Alain goes to were Cirdan is, trying to not attract the attention of Watch in the process . Also on the look out for Van Diecks and where he went . If he went down into the sewers . Then tries to find Jon after to check on him, because it looks like he took a big fall to Alain. His not going into the sewers with out the rest of the party to back each other up down there. If he see's Van Diecks before he goes out of sight in looking down the manhole, he'll send a MM to hurt him some more .

Neither Jonathon nor Van Diecks is in sight. Alain isn't sure where Jon went, but it wasn't in this direction.

Jonathan reaches the office and finds no one present. Feeling defeated, he moves to the area that he saw was Norzaks room and finds a place to collapse with exhaustion.

"Mein gott," the archivist says, stepping into the room with the girl. He pulls a handkerchief from his pant pocket, holding it over his mouth and nose. "What sort of monster did this?"

He scans the room, looking for any sign of the artifacts, or any tell-tale markers that might yield some hint of who or what did this, and why.

"Does anyone know if Van Deicks has a room or something here?" he says after his search. "I doubt our things are here, but it doesn't hurt to be thorough."

As Alain approaches Cirdan, he sees the knight leap into the sewer opening. He hears clanking armor, pounding feet, then nothing....

In the sewer....

It's dark down here. Indeed, it's pitch black once Cirdan moves a fair distance from the opening. He can hears the echo of footsteps somewhere up ahead, but cannot see Van Diecks, even with his keen elvensight.

Alain mutters an incantation over a copper coin, then drops it into the sewer. The coin begins to glow brightly as it leaves his hand. It lands in a pool of water in the tunnel below, casting light equivalent to a burning torch.


Now Alain can clearly see Cirdan's back as the knight gives chase to an unseen foe. Cirdan can see even better because of his elven heritage, but he doesn't catch sight of Van Diecks. He does see that he's in a long tunnel, about ten feet in diameter and stretching off into the blackness in either direction. Smaller access tunnels and drains join it at regular intervals on either side. These are large enough for a man to crawl through on his hands and knees. They present no such difficulty for rats, even the larger sort.

Alain goes to where Benn and Dorgio are, avoiding the watch in the process . Saying to them " Our Plate Armored Fellow went down into the sewers after Van Diecks I think, and Jon is no were to be found . So what do you guys think we should do know? "

Bennedict doesn't notice anything more in the murdered woman's room than what Dorgio had seen, at least not right away. There's no sign of the artifacts. The mirror in the room is definitetly not the missing artifact mirror.

" I would suggest one of you take Marie back to the office for safe keeping, Marie is her name right ."

Cirdan will stop for a moment, sword in hand, and listen into the darkness...

Depending on his result, he will then continue his run, breathing heavily under the armor.

In any case, the time of comedy is over for him: He removes the monk robe to show the grotesque armor of a Darkonian knight of the eternal order.

Cirdan strains his ears and eyes alike, but can detect no sign of his quarry. The man has vanished.

"Cirdan is in the sewers alone?" Benn shakes his head ruefully, placing the girl's mirror back down on the night stand. "I hope he will be alright. He is hunting the man in his own element now, and plentiful are the tales of men who wander into those sewers on their own and never return." He turns back to the grisly remains. "I agree, the girl does not need to see this. Get her out of here, Alain. Dorgio and I will not be far behind."

Frustrated, Cirdan realizes the futility of this pursuit and will climb the ladder back up.

- He will sheath his sword, but take out his dagger, should anyone attack him while he is climbing...

Dorgio nods, "Yes, Alain, we will be along shortly." And with that, he begins his examination.

"She is...she is all here...nothing is missing." Dorgio nearly gags from the smell, and tries briefly to breathe through his mouth, but it's no use, the coppery stench seems to penetrate even his teeth. "I have seen no ritual, no necromancy that would explain these cuts. But look see how ragged some of the wounds are, and some much more precise, like the cuts of chirurgery. We may be dealing with two killers. Or a single, utterly insane one."

He then looks at her hair, "See how it has been lain out? Very deliberately. He then blinks, then looks to the comb." He mutters a prayer over the objects, imploring the Morninglord to reveal any hidden puissance in them.

If the items radiate magic, he will gather them for further examination. If not, he simply looks at Benn and says, "Let us leave, this is not something we will be wanting to explain to the gendarme."
