Excellent movie and one of my favorites, although there wasn't anything in there that I found to be all that scary or disturbing. I agree that the ironic ending to the movie was a nice touch. It would have been interesting to see a sequel, but I doubt that it would have done the first movie justice.

True, it wasn't a scary movie an sich. There is the scene in the hospital, when Narcisse's showing Boone why he's eligible to enter Midian.

Scariest moment:

That point during a slasher flick that you realize you're not watching a movie at all and that bloody knife belongs to you.

About 2 years ago, I happened to have recurring nightmares with me being tortured by cenobites in various various ways...

I don't want to mention the reason.....

Anyway, I was watching Hellraiser 1 late at night for no apparent reason, maybe to fight fire with fire, but I must have slipped into sleep at one point....

I woke up screaming as soon as I heard "we have such sights to show you"

The horror...the horror...

The scariest movie moment for me was when I first heard that Britney Spears is making a second movie.

OK ... i know i'm lame, but i just saw 28 Days Later last night for the first time. scariest moment: when the protagonists realize that the army they thought would help them are more savage and tribal than the infected.

That bit seriously freaked me out as well. I suppose I'm just naturally predisposed to trust authority figures (aside from politicians, they're just evil).

a bit off the topic but ... i dont think politicians are inherently evil, but they often fail numerous Powers Checks once they're elected.

The most frighteneing scene in any film I've seen is in "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" when Jane is dancing and singing the song about writing a letter to her dead father. It's just too disturbing to see an old woman dressed like Sherly Temple singing "I've written a letter to Daddy, his address is heaven above."

And in "The Contenders: Series 7" when the old man beats the teenager to death with his walking stick made me feel very ill.

The Hills have Eyes from the 70's freaked me out as a kid so did the Last House on the Left, both Wes Craven. Original Night of the Living Dead then Dawn of the Dead ( 78 ) . Magic, with the stupid, evil puppet that comes to life. And of course Gargoyels when I was 7yrs old ..

That's it for me. That's the big one when I was a kid. Especially since my name is the same as that kid's character, and my father looks like Jack Nicolson.

Other ones that scared me when I was younger was:

Doctor Who- The Green Slime: Those giant maggots look real, and they freaked me out. Espically the scene where Jo and The Doctor have to push a mining cart through a huge nest of them.

Evil Dead 1: Some of that was truly disturbing. The Tree scene. The first time the camera (the secret whateveritis) chases the cast. The Scenes where the possessed girl just sits there and taunts the others. "we're gonna get you. He he he."

It's not a movie but, scenes from Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2
(I haven't tried the others) Play it at midnight, with the lights turned off. The music combined with the errie graphics creep me out no matter how many times I go through it. It really puts my nerves on edge.

There's a few others, but I can't remember off of the top of my head.

Night of the Living Dead (1968, not the 1990 remake) scared the hell out of me when I first watched it. it was around 2am when it started on a friday night and I was only about 13 at the time, lol. One of the first horror movies I had seen on my own and it terrified me, I just love the movie though.

Another truly scary movie moment was seeing Jarr Jarr Binks in Attack of the CLones, I was really hoping they'd drop him from the movies

Tw omore scarry moments for me were the scene in Childen of the corn where the undead Issac comes up out of the ground and calles out in that creepy lvoice of his "He wants you Malichi, he wants you."

And for some reason the little girl singing "Theres a time to reap" song at the begining of Children of the Corn 2 gives me chills.
