Ironheart's tactic:

Keep child's head in leg. Remove body.

Shana dashes forward. She glances quickly at the groaning form but, while clearly wounded, it is not on the verge of being incinerated. She approaches the flames as close as possible, trying to see if anyone can be rescued from the burning building... and if there are any clues as to who attacked

"Certainly," says Blaise, picking up one of the children as the youngsters are guided out of the drains. He looks at Threan's kukri and says, "That's an impressive blade you have. Your brother's handiwork? I've heard he's a skilled enchanter."

Alain and Shana outside Morningmist Hall-

Alain moves to attend the figure who lies groaning on the ground. Kneeling, he removes his waterskin and uncorks it, lifting the persons head and resting it on his knee to give him water without him choking on it.
"Can you tell me anything of what has happened here?"

Alain and Shana outside Morningmist Hall

The injured man answers Alain,

''Unnhhh...the fire....my brothers...dead....so many enemies...''

The man sobs, tears rolling down his soot-streaked and blistered face.

A quick examination reveals multiple contusions, abrasions, and lacerations all over his body. It looks like he took a frightful beating. His clothing is ripped, blood-stained, and scorched.

A short distance away from Alain and the injured man, closer to the burning structure, Shana spots several figures moving in her direction, through the blazing rectory. It's difficult to get a good look at them through all the smoke and flame.

Nine burning men emerge from the fire, coming straight for Shana. They shamble towards her with arms outstretched, moaning like nothing human.

Fane of Myrkul

Having returned to their lair, the Myrkulites forces regroup and take stock of their losses.

Narisa Jihb makes an announcement:

"Our Undead Master fell to the cursed Lathanderites. I gathered his items but had not enough time to grab his body. I barely escaped myself. I think it best if we pray to Myrkul for guidance as we are without a High Priest, my fellow Myrkulites."

There is quite a lot of murmuring among the priests and acolytes upon hearing this announcement. More than one of them eyes Narisa with undisguised suspicion, yet none openly challenge her words.
The entire staff retires to the central shrine to pray for guidance.

Unaware of the dangers shambling out of the nearby temple, now ablaze like a grotesquely massive funeral pyre, Alain attempts to help the injured man before him.

Alain casts Cure Moderate Wounds on the priest.

"Yes it is a Great Blade and most of the enchantment on it was done by him . This Gem here ."Pointing with a finger his left hand at a small amethyst gem (That is carved into the shaped of humanoid skull.) that is attached to the base of the blade . "That is what makes it truly effective against undead . It's called a Truedeath Crystal and my brother made it for me . This one is the best kind you can use to kill undead with as it allows me to also Strike Ghosts without fail . "

Blaise, Ino, IH, Threan, Glim, Jamethon

''Alright, back to headquarters!''

The party flies back to Militia HQ. The HQ building is abuzz with activity, much more so than would be usual past midnight. Messengers stride briskly through the hall. Men are rubbing sleep from their eyes and stumbling out of the barracks to form up on the patio.

Glim spends a few minutes explaining the situation to the medics, who promise to do what they can for the little ones.

Jamethon goes to make a report to Rask. He comes back out in just a few minutes and announces to the team-

''Morningmist Hall is burning! Watch-Captain Rask tells me that we have received unconfirmed reports of an assault on the temple. We've been ordered to proceed without delay to the temple. We are to provide security and whatever assistance we can in fighting the fire, rescuing the injured, and recovering the dead. The Watch-Captain will remain here and coordinate more resources to help us. ''

The injured man doesn't get up and dance a jig, but his coughing subsides and some of his wounds fade or close. He sits upright under his own power.

Alain gives the man a concerned look. "It doesn't look good. We are going to do everything we can to help as many people as possible. For now we need you to get to a safe distance."

Alain then attempts to help the man to his feet and move him away from the blaze.

"yes lets move. I don't think I can be much help fighting the flames but maybe we are lucky and get some of the attackers! The temple of Morninglord has been attacked two days in a row. For sure not a coincidence! Lets hope we find survivors!"

With Alain's help, the injured man limps away from the fire, to the side of the closest canal. The survivor now turns his gaze to the inferno consuming the temple complex.

''Holy Lathander! I...I can barely walk. Bring the wounded to me, if any live. I'll heal them, even if it takes my last breath to do so.''
