He was wondering what you were doing with that. I was hoping you would use it to have a Pocket Eidolon (and make it into a popular Japanese cartoon show) but he crushed my dreams by saying that didn't work at this level.

I see the PvP has already begun. How exciting!

I was the one who blew your cover, Revka. :( I apologize. I didn't realize it was a secret. I will be more discreet in the future.

It seems I had better start giving you guys something to do. :lucas: I had been thinking of delaying the actual game start until after mid-August, because I will be incommunicado for about three weeks starting in late July (grant application due, then vacation). Should we start up and then let y'all be intriguing in the meantime?

I'm wondering about clothing and fashion for Mulan. Like....do they even have like balls or fancy parties and what kind of thing would they wear to such a thing--still the zarong and vest but in fancier fabrics? or do they have a wider variety at all?

The Mulani generally often have large and extraordinarily lavish parties; the Jarenberg, not so much. They're (relatively) poor and quite isolated, so their opportunities for big occasions are limited. They still have them, of course. For the Jarenbergs the biggest occasion of the year is the day of their family totem (Opposition Red Diligence, November 25th), where they have a big public celebration in Jarenberg-town, but that's a occasion for the whole household from family members to serfs, so it's not exactly occasion for stunning clothes (lots of furs for the ladies though)!

Actually, that could a big thing for you as a Jarenberg woman--furs. It's cold up there for much of the year, and the mountains may not supply much wealth, but there is certainly a lot of opportunity for hunting and trapping. I can't find any pictures worth linking to yet, but I'll keep looking. If you're not going outside or are somewhere warm for a change you'd probably go with a more "traditional Mulani" high-fashion look.

Yes, let's get on with it! I think it may be good to give our characters time to bond. Vasili in particular will need some getting used to, and some time to learn whom to trust.

Of course, he does correspond quite a lot, so we could say that one or more of the other PC's were among his penpals. That's why I was wondering about the various new noble families. Is our Mordentish paladin connected with politics, merchandise or academics?

I've noticed people keep saying "Mulani" in reference to Mulan things. When I went to the Gazetteer to see how to properly use "Mulani" rather than "Mulan" I noticed that it never uses "Mulani". I don't know if it's significant, but it's just something I noticed.

Yeah, we seem to have picked up that habit. At some point I had the idea of it being single Mulan (that Mulan over there, get him!) vs. plural Mulani, with the adjective also being Mulani, but it's probably degenerated into using "Mulani" for everything at this point. Suggestions?

It would stop us all from champing at the bit. We will have to wait on Kage's sorcerer to have a name... although from the sound of it he's going to lie about what it is anyway.
DeepShadow of FoS wrote:Is our Mordentish paladin connected with politics, merchandise or academics?
The paladin likes to dabble around in academics, although thanks to paladin skill points, not all that much. (*weeps*) He has some friends among the professors at the University of Dementlieu, if that helps.

Er, what I mean to say is, I suspect I prefer the Mulani.

I'm going to be out of town between the 27th and the 3rd, for what it's worth. That said, some sort of prologue perhaps? Either individual scenes or a "hey, let's all get to know one another," before we start on the actual meat of the adventure when Kage and whoever else is not yet done joins us?

Do you guys want your introduction scenes to be public, or private?

I vote public. I am a stickler for hoarding PC info until I have a chance to reveal it, but when it's time for things to be revealed, let's show for everyone!

Nothing good has ever come of me trying to hide things in game, it just means people ignore me. ;) I'd say public unless someone has some really gribbly secrets in their introductory scene.
