Whistler, FYI, Chromatic Orb just deals 1d10 damage on a miss. It does not deal 1d10+Charisma, and it does not daze on a miss. So you dealt 1d10+5, so four damage less than you stated. (Vulnerability adds 5 damage, also)

If you could go back and account for that, it would be appreciated.

The miss text says "roll a d6 to determine the attack's damage type and effect, as above", so I *think* it still dazes...but I'll subtract 9 from the damage total. Thanks for the heads-up!

4! 4! not 9!

I also missed that you already included the vulnerability. Whoops!

Also, in the future, you people need to choose whether you're using Agale's +2 bonus before you roll your attack. Alright?

You do still add your Sorcerer +Dex mod and implement bonus to the miss damage for Chromatic Orb, just not your Cha mod.

Rereading Agale's power, it occurs on the next attack, so the next person gets the +2 whether they like it or not.

Lostboy,

Stirring Shout has an 'Effect' which happens regardless of hitting. You should probably note that effect in the main thread.

Stirring Shout - Effect: Until the end of the encounter, whenever an ally hits the target, that ally regains hit points equal to your Charisma modifier.

As a note to all of those new to 4e, "effects" happen regardless of whether you hit or miss.

really? Oh well makes me less of a loser then.

So therefore anyone who wants 4 free hp back have a whack at the good captain. I'll add this to the post.

I also just relaised then that Cedolin should have had half damage and had his moves restricted by me missing compulsion last turn as well then... hey ho you live and learn these things.

Yeah,

With a few notable exceptions, nearly all Daily Attack powers do something even if you miss.

Depends on when they came out, I believe. The ones in the PHB rarely had Effects or Miss things, but those in the ____ Power or the PHBII often do.
