Just so we are all imagining similar things--the shard of the Shield of Ezra Richard has is white and close to rectangular, about ten inches across and seven high, with most of a longsword and all of a spring of belladonna* in raised bas-relief on it.

*I think it's belladonna? There seems to have been some confusion at some point about whether it was belladonna or wolfsbane in canon, or maybe I'm just imagining that?

I've only seen belladonna in the artwork and mentioned in the 3e stuff. The mix-ups I've come across is the subspecies of nightshade -- climbing or deadly.

Just to note--Richard is, at the moment, extra-non-threatening because he has left his greatsword in Isolt's tomb. (!)

... can Nuray use a greatsword? That would make it easier to behead the zombie wolf corpses.

If someone could pick up and hold that until I can come fetch it, I'd be much obliged.

are you kidding? Vasili will find one hundred and one uses for a great sword. Trust me, he will keep it safe.

Can Vasili even lift it?

Looks like Greatsword is martial, so no.

In the most recent posts, Richard refers to the shard as a piece of metal. IIRC the shard as described as a piece of ivory in VRA.

Richard isn't actually sure what it's made of. The two substances that come to mind are ivory and marble (ivory for texture, marble for weight). It seems to be very slightly flexible, such that he imagines it snapping rather than shattering as it broke.

I assume it's made of Phlebotinum.

Okay, I assume Nuray can't hear Tara through Vasili's whisper spell?
