My previous actions here were made banishable, Sire. Am I to believe all is forgotten or this is just an exception, Sire?"
Sir Rory shrugs.
"You weren't banished, my lady. His Grace sent you away with an escort to keep you safe and out of trouble. After your outburst and that show with the blade, we all thought you were losing your...balance. I've seen it before, a woman's temper fraying under the stress of a siege."
He frowns. "If I had thought you were an assassin, you wouldn't have left Caer Haes at all. So don't worry about the incident. I trust it won't recur."
She looks at Sir Rory, in the eyes. Face impassive, voice calm. "That is in the past
Sire. I shall return to the meeting. Thank you for you time and patience, Sir Rory."
She bows slightly, with respect, and returns inside the room, taking her seat.

THE PEWTER STATUETTE
Filbert carries the possibly cursed idol to the Cathedral of Haelyn.
The priests there thank him for his prompt action and assure him that they will keep the statuette locked away until it can be magically investigated, and if need be, destroyed.
The halfing and his companions are free to return to the meeting.

Filbert is still a bit concerned about the statuette since he was the one that got it in the palace. Returning at the palace he says to Termelan:
"You said you want to speak with me, is this the right time? Or it's better after the meeting?"

Termelan is taken aback a bit by the question. A Lord asking him if that's the right time for a discussion... Lord Filbert is an uncommon sort.
"Eh... if it is the right time for you my lord, I would like to ask you to give my apologies to Lady Safana for any kind of offense or insult I may have given her in the days before she revealed the extend of her powers. I think customs are different here but I wouldn't presume to talk to a Trueblood directly. Truebloods, people that can use True Magic hold the highest positions of power by birthright where I come from. Whether that's true here or not, I wouldn't take the risk.
And to be sincere, even if things are different here, I would possibly get in trouble back home for disrespecting a True Mage in any place of the world. Sharing drinks and a leisure trip with a True mage as Lady Safana is... beyond scandalous in my homeland. I can't be sure how the True Mages would react, but perhaps they could assume that I developed bad habits and banish me for ever.
On another note, if I could take a little bit more of your time, I would like to thank you for the kindness you and his Grace have shown to me and tell you that I would like to enter your service temporarily if that's agreeable to you while I stay in this land. I have reasons, namely the maggots, to be personally against the Crone and I've seen how much damage the demonic cults could do if we didn't have the True Mages to stop them.
I would be honored to be in your service while you work to advance his Grace's interests and keep the peace against that evil woman. "

Before Filbert and his company return:
Sir Rory converses with Domenica...
After Filbert and the others return
Sir Rory reconvenes the meeting.
"His Grace wishes the Crone to be arrested as soon as possible, but just now the Watch and the city garrison are busy with security. And of course there is an investigation going on inside the Watch..."
He lays a thin stack of parchments on the table.
"These warrants will give you the temporary and basic legal powers you may need, subject to Sir Gunnar's oversight, in pursuing her. If she does somehow get out of Haes the writs will still prove useful, as they carry the Duke's authority. But only within Tuornen. "
The Castallen looks about the room.
"I have here a copy made for each of you, courtesy of one of those newfangled printing machines. The ink is hardly dry. All that is needed is your signature or your mark, and then I can send these up to receive a seal. His Grace wants only volunteers for this task."
He folds his arms and leans back in his chair, leaving the documents on the table before him.

Termelan looks around unsure and speaks up "I would like to assist his Grace to the extend of my abilities. I would like to officially volunteer, as I have privately done so to Lord Filbert a few minutes ago."

Domenica ponders this development. As much as she would like to help, she is also on a mission for the Arch Prelate, and has other matters to deal with. She can , however, offer information
for these warrants. With her network of spies, she could indeed help in offering any information on the whereabouts of this bitch Crone. The death of Crowley is indeed incentive enough and
doing a
"Solid" for the Duke would be beneficial for her.
"Sir Rory, I myself can not help, but I have a vast network of information gatherers and those types in my employ. Not just in the city, but as well, across the river and beyond.
Would this be amenable to the Duke? Information gathering is one aspect of Barillia and Associates, Sire."

He smiles.
"Of course. "

"Sire, I will sign. My people will be more active than I but if they can use the warrant, then that would make sense."

Safana approaches the table and curtseys.
"Sir Rory, please convey to His grace that I am deeply honoured by this expression of confidence. Of course I volunteer my poor skills without hesitation, and I will do my utmost to see that he is not disappointed"
She signs one of the warrents with a flourish

Cranstel looks somewhat surprised and alarmed as he sees one of the warrants with his name on it. "Um, well, I suppose if none better are available," he mumbles as he reaches for one and signs.

Domenica signs the warrant like someone who is accustomed to apposing her signature to documents. She inspects it with a practiced eye then hands it back to Sir Rory.

Termelan, more out of habit reads the document before signing it.
