"I agree with Dalorna. I would feel quite a bit more comfortable knowing our back is clear in case we discover a threat below that is too dangerous to face."

"Agreed. I can go first with Isidar and check the unexplored rooms. Then when we are sure we have searched all the 1st floor we can go back and return maybe tomorrow to search downstairs."

Then Sara goes and help Alia to burn the webs trying to see if there is anything hidden there.

Alia gives a yell and tries to dive back down the corridor away from the oncoming swarm!

"Spiders!"

Says Sara and retreats as well.

"Get out of the way I don't think is useful fight them now. Better leave now we can."

The Professor quickly reaches into his pack and removes a well kept flask of what appears to be oil. "Why, I have just the thing. Can anyone ensure a solid hit?"

Irritation creeps into Dalorna's voice as she replies to the Professor's question-

''No, so stop wasting time. Splash them before they get any closer!''

She turns around and jogs away from the oncoming mass of potentially deadly black spiders.

Isidar backs away quickly, trying to stomp on any spiders taht get too close.

Just as the Swarm is forming up and to spill out of the end of the passage to engulf 3 members of the party . Those members move back to safety with rest of the group, from the oncoming spiders . Just as they retreat Huln throws a flask of oil onto the still forming swarm . It breaks apart and splashes most of the swarm that has formed up until this point . Right after he does this, with great timing Sara tosses a torch on the oil and lights it . It lights the oil easily enough, but barely seems to be burning .

Alia is leaping backwards, trying to stay ahead of the swarm and let the burning oil do it's work

Isidar will "lead" the retreat, making sure no other monsters barr her companions' path.

Sara shots at the swarm to no effect, then moves away with the rest of the group .
As the party moves away from oncoming fully formed swarmed the oil that did not seem to be doing that much to it . The oil flares up to engulf the swarm and to the relief of the explorers that last flare of oil disperses the swarm .

Dalorna tells the others-

''Okay, let's burn away the rest of the web, and then check that dead end hall. Maybe they just stopped digging there, or maybe there is something hidden by all those webs. If more spiders come out, we can simply fall back into the main hall."

She looks to the south, where an open corridor leads into an unexplored room.

''We had better check out that room as well. I'm curious to learn if it connects with the passageway that we bypassed earlier, when we had first entered the mine."

She pauses a moment, and then adds-

''Let's make sure we stick together and check out things as we pass them. We wouldn't want anything nasty popping up at out backs. I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to just clear out the upper section of this mine before going back to the village. It would probably be wise to get home before nightfall. We can rest in town. In the morning, we can return to go down those stairs near the entrance and explore the depths..."

Isidar turns around. "Now that the oil has done the trick, it seems we are more able to search freely. I agree with Dalorna." She begins to look along the wall for other doors, and such.
