For the record, your plan would surely have worked, but for the bailiff being so darned prompt and thorough in his reports and the baron being practically required by politics to take an interest in the murder of Delthrin.
I must admit, I'm still not seeing the problem. Neither Blaise nor Shana were arrested for the "crime", and it's hardly suspicious that they should petition the judge for clemency on their friends' behalf. If the Bailiff has given a detailed report, he'll know we weren't involved in the incident itself. Blaise has been in custody and released. Its a little embarrassing if he recognises Shana, but all she actually did was evade a search. She was specfically told she wasn't under arrest. Oh well.

The baron is understandly suspicioius of 'Blaise Zilfarrik.'' It now appears clear that Blaise Redman lied to him about his real identity- twice. The first time was to set up a fake interview. Blaise isn't what he represented himself to be, so what is he? A spy? An assasssin? People coming on behalf of their friends don't usually use fake names.kintire wrote:Well yes... but so what? No, but they were there and the Bailiff noted it in his report. He he he
I'm not saying you cannot talk your way out of it, but it had better be good. The baron isn't stupid, and he dislikes being lied to by anyone. Might be a touch paranoid, too.

He is clearly a raving paranoid. Then again, if he DOES actually have reason to believe that the Zhents and the Night Knives are after him, that's not an unreasonable response...The baron is understandly suspicioius of 'Blaise Zilfarrik.'' Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean that they aren't really out to get you!

Yep. Posing as a history buff was a good idea at the time and it facilitated an introduction to the baron, but the incident at the beach brought Blaise a little more notoriety than he wanted.ewancummins wrote:The baron is understandly suspicioius of 'Blaise Zilfarrik.'' It was a great idea!
You didn't know that Ildool was a bit on the edgy side, and you couldn't have predicted all that crazyness with Delthrin getting offed, the bailiff, etc.

Crap! I think we dodged a bullet on that one. OK, let's keep it spinning...!
Schedule Note: I'll be traveling to Florida on Saturday to visit the mother-in-law for several days. (AIEEEE! I've already failed my Madness save.) Between Saturday and Wednesday, I may be able to check in and post once a day, probably in the evenings (U.S. Eastern time). So I'll try to post as much as I can today and most of tomorrow to get Blaise in a good position for Ewan to put him on "auto-pilot" for a few days if necessary.

I'll be visiting relatives Sat, and starting my brand new tabeltop game[ alternate historical fantasy in 13th century Florence- with poisoners, freaky Greek exiles, banditti, and Church politics...gonna be fun!]. So, as you can see, it's a busy weekened for me, as well.
