One of the two men is hopping about with a fork sticking out of his leg.

The other man's body goes down beneath Ironheart's mighty axe. With a THWACK, the barbarian beheads him.

Lout snarls and takes a long step back. Throwing open his coat, he begins chanting and fiddling with a small piece of metal...

Ironheart feels the hated hand of foul sorcery upon him. His limbs become heavy as lead and he cannot move!


Lout looks down at the beheaded man and then back up at Ironheart.

''You just made a bad mistake, big man.''

The forked one now rushes to Ironheart and moves to slice the barbarian's throat!

The half dozen Purple Dragon knights on scene draw their swords and move to encircle the party!

The knight-commander says, in a calm and civil tone-

''You are all under arrest by order of the Baron. Lay down your weapons and do not offer resistance, and I will see to it that you are not harmed or treated with indignity.''

Alain gives a contemptuous sigh in response. He wished that he could just vanish at will as Shana had done.
Reluctantly, and very slowly, Alain lays on the ground.

Near field HQ


The Purple Dragon knight orders-

''Hold your fire! Don't harm anyone who surrenders without resistance!''

Seeing Alain give up without a fight, Jamethon follows suit.

At the back of the group Inovidil is ready to come forward as Jamethon said when the baron's soldiers appear and tell them to surrender. Seeing that Shana disappear, the evoker decides to do the same thing this time. She doesn't want to spend another day in prison!

She moves closer to Blaise waving her hands as if wanting to cast a spell and saying strange phrases that could pass for arcane.

A couple of the men move towards Ino, crossbows at the ready.

''Stop it or we'll shoot! Please don't make us shoot you.''

Ino keeps the faint spellcasting, she knows very well that they will shoot at her, but this is what she want right now!

Ino is struck by two bolts, but the bolts just skip off her as if her skin were as hard as granite!

When finally 2 of the guards shoot, Ino grabs Blaise arm and starts casting for real now!

Before anyone can stop Ino, both she and Blaise have vanished into thin air!

Ino and Blaise experience a brief flash of disorientation. Then, almost instantly, things are right again. Looking about, they see that they are standing on a fogbound island. A short distance away, uphill, is a very large three storey plaster, timber and brick building. Light shines from the windows; and laughter, music, and singing sound from within the hall.

Inovidil looks around and smiles.

"Hope you don't mind our not so classy escape Blaise! A man like you for sure isn't used to these methods, but I thought was necessary. We are at a small island, this building over there is The Drowning Flagon. Is the place where I met the illusionist earlier today. Don't think they will search us here and we can benefit of a free room to sleep and figure out what to do to help our friends. Better use different names there."

With another smile says:

"Shall we?"

And she heads to the bar.

Shana steps into the fog, looking for cover, and then turns to cast a spell to support her comrades. Seeing that all except two have escaped, she pauses, then gives a sweet smile.

"Alain, Jame... Karma's a bitch!"

She then frowns, and heads off in search of Ironheart. There's a man who will need a friendly invisibility to get out of this one!
