But in the meantime, I will do round 4 init and get actions for NPCs worked out/declared, at least.

ELVES

MEN

[dice]1[/dice]

Elf morale check

[dice]2[/dice]

Morale failure= wild attack, desperate and poorly coordinated.

The elves boil out of the burning thicket at attack anyone in their way as they attempt to flee.

But you guys have the initiative.

Since I have some declared PC actions, I'll resolve those with dice rolls.

But I'm not skipping Adam, should he choose to do something other than keep shooting.
I don't want to railroad.

Roald sword attacks on frantic elf trying to get past him

Sir Boarholt shield rams one elf, trying to push him back into the flames, and follows up with a hammer stroke

[dice]5[/dice]

2nd hammer attack from spec

Reed... the name sounds familiar. I am certain you have mentioned it somewhere in the past.
Does Termelan know anything about Reed? He is, after all, a bard. ;)

A foreign bard.

But still, he's been gathering lore from the day he arrived in this strange country, and bards may ''know a little about everything.''

I posted several missed arrow shots earlier. Are we onto another round from there? I guess I'll keep shooting if we are.

Also, I didn't see an answer to whether I can see Ned or the fox lady anywhere nearby.
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Adam: no sign of Ned or the Fox-Woman.
Not yet, anyway.

Van: a fortnight

You choose the penalty and tell me if Termelan has picked up anything about such a man or not.

Also, out of curiocity, how big is that river? I would guess "wide enough for the other city to be outside catapult or fireball range" but that's lower boundary... and very impressive size for a bridge.
I don't know how much interested you are in sharing info about stuff like "big nice bridges" but I would also like to know more about this bridge, if possible. You know from the other FoS threads that I take interest in such things.
I could make a local history check for that too, as a huge bridge that once connected to rival cities that may now again be "married" together is a very interesting site. There's bound to be legends, stories, and all about such a bridge that more or less symbolized the broken realm... that may now be re-united.
(local history about that bridge? If it's not a success or you don't want to waste time on describing the stories of broken bridges it's OK).

It gives me invalid code dice again... should I reroll? Will it fix after a while?

OK, managed to fix the invalid code. It seems I failed, but Termelan probably has learned a couple of things about that bridge at least.

Alhoon- I'll get you an good figure for distance after I consult my notes and game materials.

But some long range strikes in previous wars have hit walls on either side, over the river.
Not much more than pockmarking the walls.
In order to really do anything effective attackers would need bridges (destroyed), battle barges, or landing forces and attacking by land.

The cities were not built far apart at all, but right up to the riverbank on either side.

Lofton proper rests on bluffs, but its docks and waterfront zone are lower.

Haes and Lofton were the same city a hundred years ago.

Think Buda and Pest= Budapest.

The long bridge connecting the was destroyed in the War of Brothers, about a century ago. This was the conflict in which the western counties of Alamie seceded to form a new realm" Tuornen.

Eamon's baptism was today, and I have family and friends visiting.

Expect slow updates for a couple of days, but I will continue to post.

I hope people are enjoying the game thus far.
