Is a tumbling double-move to the chamber holding 'the Circle' an option? I have the Mobility feat and a Shield bonus. I -might- make it.

Do any mages have cold-based spells? If the fungus is susceptible to cold, then maybe if we can hit the demon with some cold magic...

Sure, you can try it next round.Rock wrote:Is a tumbling double-move to the chamber holding 'the Circle' an option? I have the Mobility feat and a Shield bonus. I -might- make it.
This round, she's getting on her feet, after the near death experience.

Okay- I just need actions for Benn and Thom, round Two.
After that, the monsters go.
Then Eustace can act.
Then it's round three (unless the fight ends this round, of course)

Everline double-moves; one move to get up, one to run down the corridor recently burned open.

Right- she can double-move next round (3). She used a scroll and got knocked down/out, then got back up, this round (2).Rock wrote:Everline double-moves; one move to get up, one to run down the corridor recently burned open.
Check previous posts if you are confused.
The good news is that she'll act at the top of next round.

I would try to cast shield of faith but it's basically a straight d20 roll for me at the moment, given that I have no con bonus anymore.
Are we eating attacks of opportunity if we try to move right now? Benn will still try to move down through the opening, I guess, but I've got very few hps left. If a single move gets me clear to where I can cast a spell I'll cure light wounds myself. If not double move.

"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."
Re: The Devil's Dreams OOC
Eustace will definitely cast Quick March as his next action. It only lasts one round, but benefits everyone (allies in 20ft radius)
If after this he can do anything else, he will try to rescue Toddlestone.

Benn may choose to withdraw as a full round action. It would get him away from the beasties without risking an AoO. If he waits till next round, the beasties will box him in again, almost certainly. They are moving that way now.
Now, the terrain is a bit difficult, because of the charred bodies and all. A DC 10 tumble or balance is needed to avoid tripping, unless you move at half speed. Of course, with withdraw, he could go half speed and still move 30 feet! That's well out of monster reach!Withdraw
Withdrawing from melee combat is a full-round action. When you withdraw, you can move up to double your speed. The square you start out in is not considered threatened by any opponent you can see, and therefore visible enemies do not get attacks of opportunity against you when you move from that square. (Invisible enemies still get attacks of opportunity against you, and you can’t withdraw from combat if you’re blinded.) You can’t take a 5-foot step during the same round in which you withdraw.
If, during the process of withdrawing, you move out of a threatened square (other than the one you started in), enemies get attacks of opportunity as normal.
You may not withdraw using a form of movement for which you don’t have a listed speed.
Note that despite the name of this action, you don’t actually have to leave combat entirely.
If he's willing to risk the AoOs, he could just move a shorter distance and cast the spell on himself this round.
Your call, dude.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL:
I just read Quick March. It works for 1 round. Since Eustace will be casting it this round, I'm going to rule that it only works this round, not next round. What does that mean? Simple- you all may move an additional 30 feet at the very end of this round! That will remove you all from the monsters' reach for at least a round, and it will actually put Alain and Zandor inside the dark tunnel where they think Theo is hiding. It may be possible to leap over the pool, even (will need a jump check).
PS- Is the my link picture I provided working for you all? Skybolt says that his borwser displays a very small image, but the link shows a large image on my screen. Is anyone confused about the rough psoitions of the party and the monsters? Y'all are in the back (south) of the pool cavern , and Alain is running on the right side of the pool, followed by Zandor and Rotwang. They are headed for the tunnel mouth across the cavern, the one marked 'darkened.' The northern end of the cavern is pretty much clear of visible monsters, aside from some swarming rats.
Does that help?

Double-checking, with the Quick March, even given a patch of unfavorable terrain ( strewn with charred corpses and a bit slippery) anybody who moves at least 15 feet toward the dark tunnel this round can get to the tunnel mouth or actually inside it at the end of this turn.

I can see the pic just fine. That helps a lot, actually.
Okay, so if Dorgio's got Quick March then he's going to head north, away from the big monsters, following Alain, Zandor and Rotwang.
Have any of us been to the "glowing" room before?

Nope. You saw rats swarming out of it and monsters lurking in it, the first time down. You didn't actually explore it of the dark hole.Brock Marsh Runoff wrote:Have any of us been to the "glowing" room before?

Re: The Devil's Dreams OOC
Dorgio was struck for 4 points- leaving him with only 2 hit points.
Everyone within 20 feet of Eustace gets a 30 bonus move. That's most of the group. The other are already pretty much across the cavern and at the tunnel mouth...
Eustace is trapped at the southern (stream outlet) end of the cavern by a large gang of the creatures! He is surrounded on all sides. He cannot withdraw, as he has cast a spell and withdraw is a full round action. He cannot simply run out , as that would require an overrun action with the monsters are all around. He doesn't have ranks in tumble. Movement options are limited, ATM.
Eustace has cast a spell (standard action). He may still perfrom a move action.
He does have a + 12 (base move 60) to jump right now, just this round. The only thing is- he has no room for a running start, and he really can't clear the monsters heads and arms without one. The only way he can jump is straight up. The ceiling is fissured and irregular. Water flows through it in places ( as described earlier, that how the pool fills).Watch out for the stalactities!
Let me know what, if anything, Eustace is doing with his temporarily increased move. Remember, it only lasts for this round, and then it is gone.
