Surprisingly creepy

Yes, it's a colourful cartoon, a series of sketches stitched together ... but the ending of this particular scene strikes me as having the seed for Ravenloft horror.
Imagine a domain where, if you stay too long, you don't lose your memories, but your reality. Stay too long, and you lose your agency; you start to live in accordance with a script written by an unknown hand, and if you reach the end of the story ... well. Then you remain self-aware just long enough to see everything become increasingly bizarre and banal, then turn flat and hollow around you, then the same thing happens to you, and not even death awaits. Just a long, drawn-out line in the void, the single dimension you have been reduced to. And the only way you'll ever get out is if the script-writer decides he or she or it wants to use you for another story.
