As everyone has already touched upon, it was used in the broad and very generic Asian sense of the term. There was no intention of being rude or condensending toward any race or nationality with the terminology, and I highly suggest that everyone let the topic drop unless someone is truly and deeply offended by it. We're trying to decide upon a theme and not debate semantics of titles...daffy72 wrote:why is sri raji lumped into orient? I'Cath would definitely be included in this category as well. As for seeing it used in the issue, that depends upon any authors that wish to do somethine with it. We wouldn't turn those articles away, but someone does need to write something for us to be able to include it.Desmond LaRouche wrote:I suppose it's to much to hope that something about I'Cath might be included as well if it wins? I know most folks don't see to care for it, but something about Tsien Chiang's domain strikes me...
No, Quoth the Raven is equally open to both Ravenloft and Masque of the Red Death. The trouble is that most authors that submit articles to us focus on Ravenloft and not Masque. We could choose a theme that would be MotRD specific, but it isn't very likely to create much more of a response. The interest in doing MotRD articles seems to consistantly stay pretty low.Manofevil wrote:I'd love to do 'the Evil That Men Do' but most of my stuff would fall under the Masque of the Red Death setting, which is all well and good, but I couldn't do any RavenLoft Stuff and QtR seems to lean more in that direction.
I would highly encourage you to submit something to us, though. If not for Quoth the Raven, then it might be worth helping out the MotRD project that might be starting (see the Gothic Earth Board).
