As everyone has already touched upon, it was used in the broad and very generic Asian sense of the term. There was no intention of being rude or condensending toward any race or nationality with the terminology, and I highly suggest that everyone let the topic drop unless someone is truly and deeply offended by it. We're trying to decide upon a theme and not debate semantics of titles...

I'Cath would definitely be included in this category as well. As for seeing it used in the issue, that depends upon any authors that wish to do somethine with it. We wouldn't turn those articles away, but someone does need to write something for us to be able to include it.

Manofevil wrote:I'd love to do 'the Evil That Men Do' but most of my stuff would fall under the Masque of the Red Death setting, which is all well and good, but I couldn't do any RavenLoft Stuff and QtR seems to lean more in that direction.
No, Quoth the Raven is equally open to both Ravenloft and Masque of the Red Death. The trouble is that most authors that submit articles to us focus on Ravenloft and not Masque. We could choose a theme that would be MotRD specific, but it isn't very likely to create much more of a response. The interest in doing MotRD articles seems to consistantly stay pretty low.

I would highly encourage you to submit something to us, though. If not for Quoth the Raven, then it might be worth helping out the MotRD project that might be starting (see the Gothic Earth Board).

It's all about the evil that men do!
Ravenloft is fed by people's weaknesses and lack of self control, twisted minds with wicked desires and corrupted souls commiting foul acts.
I'd like to see some more - I think I'll try to contribute for such an issue...

Guess what: I'm willing! The thing is that I don't have any Masque material, but as far as Ravenloft is concerned, I can help you. Masque will take some time, since I don't have a clue other than Kargatane's books.

Glad to help,

Either Bogeymen or Evil that Men Do. I got submission ideas for both.

Well, it looks like a dead heat between the Shadow Fey and their rivals, the evil human.

Who will win out?

Does anyone have any good ideas that they would like to share?

Why not making a double issue, celebrating the tenth release and all!

Thus we could have both feys and evil men.

just a thought...

That is certainly a possibilty, and we might do something like that if there is a tie in the votes. However, it looks like evil men has pulled ahead and is making a break for the finish gate...

I voted for the evil that men do, but I would like to cover the evil that women do as equally as the evil that men do.

For those of you who wait until the last minute to do something, I would suggest that you cast your vote now. It looks like there will only be a couple more days for you to voice your opinion before we do a final count and announce our decisions... 8)

So, if things remain as they are, the theme of Quoth the Raven X will be "Evil Men Who Go Bump In The Night"?

No, it'll be "The Evil That Boogie Men Do."
Pinky! Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

I think so, Brain, but didn't we give up ritual murder for Lent?
