I could see how a Ravenloft DM could use this but to Gothic Earth I would label it nigh useless. Monsters controlling a village is just too fantasy and not the stuff of the Red Death's subtle intrigue and cloak and dagger games.

As for the movie itself. I did not like it. I found the twists highly predictable (I actually called the 'major' twist in the first 15 minutes). Normally a movie can get by with good acting and characterisation and building the atmosphere if the story is found out. However The Village centered itself around its twists with little build of characters. Indeed it lacked a sense of resolution for me due to the quest of the main character being fairly mild and not actually following it up that much when she succeeded.

Now on a moderator avenue. Why is this in the Gothic Earth area? I find it far more suited to Dark Beyond or even General -for Gothic Earth 'The Village' is not.

I saw it finally!!!! And I did guess one of the twists but not the final one.
I liked it, not as much as 6th sense though. I really didn't see it coming in the very end.
De retour dans les Brumes, enfin!
