Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

OOC: So, she just fell down the staircase and (more or less) into Roland's lap? Yeesh.Rafael wrote: The vampire is caught off guard by the new earthquake and falls somewhere off sight, into the house's stairway...
Remaining on his stomach, and heedless of the damage to his good silk shirt, Roland crawls forward and flips the trapdoor closed. "Good thing I'm not afraid of heights," he mutters. Sitting, he turns toward the staircase...and sees the vampiress picking herself up and muttering gibberish to herself.Wind blows against him, making Roland loose balance and tumble through the cellar again...
Beneath him, through the door, empty sky... The ground with golden corm fields, far downside...
Roland says nothing--he probably can't say anything.* His mouth working silently, he attempts to scoot away across the basement floor without rising or making any noise at all.

I'm guessing 16 would fail--hence the temporary aphasia.

Shana sends the illusion down the stairs after the vampire, chanting an eldritch spell, even as she intones the same words. Two scintillating darts of light seem to emerge from the image curling down towards the vampire to sink into her undead flesh.
"Well, sanctified one, GET ON WITH IT THEN!"
[Send the Image down to distract the vampire, casting Magic Missile from behind it, in hopes she will associate the spell with the image, not me...
Good job my Spot is so low... Let me know when I just can't miss that we're flying ]

Shaken, but relieved that the vampire has fallen down the stairs and is not menacing him alone, George gets to his feet in cautious pursuit of the creature.
Catching a glimpse out of a window, George notices that the house seems to be floating high in the air.
After a brief spell of vertigo, George calls out to his companions, "Can vampires fly? Let's push her out of the house."
He then looks to see if there is an exit he can shove the vampire out.

"Help! Help! By Ezra, I am suffocating!"
It's the boy's voice!
It's coming from under the planks!
Alain hear's the boy's shouting as well...BigBadQDaddy wrote: IC:Alain will rush to the stairwell to offer back up for the time being.
And is then crossed by Roland's ghostly image...

As Brethana grabs the naked vampire woman, the ferovious beast turns and hits her with its clawed fingers... [3 DAM]tarlyn st-denfer wrote:Brethana tries to help George grab the Vampire to throw her outside...
Brethana staggers back and subsequently falls into the open coffin that lies somewhere there in the chaos...
Then Shana's magc bolts hit Dru, and the vampire is pushed right into Roland's arms... Giving Moorkroft the opportunity to strike...kintire wrote: "Well, sanctified one, GET ON WITH IT THEN!"
----------------------------------------------------
The house suddenly stops trembling and moving...
Those who are still near any window can see dim creatures all around it...
Big men, floating in the mists, wearing black robes...

Re: Coffin
In the moment that Brethana pushes up the coffin's cover, something breaks...tarlyn st-denfer wrote:Brethana is startled for a second, then pushes the lid off the coffin and jumps out of the coffin, Great Sword leading, feet firmly planted on the ground , searching for the Vampire or any foe....
A thin line, a narrow rift crossing wood and stone alike, cuts through the rooms of the house, and you can feel the blazing cold air of the high sky pushing in...
And with a crushing sound, the coffin sinks half into the stone ground, taking Brethana with it...
"Aiiyeee!"LouisVendredi wrote:Seeing that many foes are attacking the vampire, George rushes to where he hears the boy's voice and begins to pull up the floorboards to free him.
In the moment of the wood breaking, the boy howls and yells for help...
The whole floor is trembling and splinters of wood are flying away, like during an earthquake...
George will see a hand, half-buried by wooden planks...
And Dru falls through the Shana's image of Roland and chokes with Shana, taking her down...ewancummins wrote:Seeing his opening, Jamethon lunges forward and attempts to stake the vampire.
Moorkroft, missing the vampire, stumbles into Roland, and both fall down as well...
