Terry Pratchett has been diagnosed with early-onset Altzheimers. It's a sad day...

But, nooooooooo.

It always happens to the good ones doesn't it ?

Let's hope the doctors are wrong-its's happened before.

That's really odd. I heard that Alzheimer's gets those who don't keep their brains working. And I'd have thought Terry Pratchett's brain never stops.

There's also some evidence of a link between heart troubles and Alzheimer's; we just don't know enough about it to be sure of the cause.

It affects people who don't do mentally stimulating things regularly earlier and more quickly, but it's largely genetic--and the earlier the onset, the more important the genetic role.
