I had some money to spend and thought that I would finally take the players handbook even if it is at 80% like the ravenloft campaing setting. Well I had some suprise shopping on amazon:

It seem taht the 3.x line has already become a classic. At this rate in some year I will be able to sell my books to buy a house...

The secondary market prices on Amazon are frequently flat-out insane, sometimes even for items that are still available for MSRP from their publisher/manufacturer.

Drop by in the other thread for some tips on where to buy cheap.

Keep an eye on eBay. Most of those books turn up once in a while at reasonable starting prices. Perhaps the most difficult to find now would be Dark Tales & Disturbing Legends.

In fact, here are a couple of the ones in your list that (currently) aren't too expensive:

Denizens of Darkness

And Noble Knight Games has a selection of Ravenloft d20 books, including DT&DL, at (mostly) reasonable prices.

I pointed all those price to show the amazon madness, but I already have the Ravenloft Core Rulebook and Dark Tales and Disturbing legend.

In fact what lack to my collection in Ravenloft 3e would be:

The Ravenloft PHB
Secret of the dread Realms
Denizens of Darkness
The Tarokka deck
DM screen

The Ravenloft PHB interest me for the add-on material from the core book, but I will not pay a fortune for it since I already have most of his text in my Ravenloft Core Book. Same for secret of the dread realms, the information is in the Gazetteer at the exception of two relatively unimportant darklords. Denizens of Darkness is if I am right the 3.0 version of denizen of dread, so not really useful since I have denizen of dread. The tarroka deck could be cool, but I will use a normal tarot deck if I have to pay an inflated price.

For Noble Knight Games, is this a US or Canadian site? (influence shippign and exchange rate). While I aready own most of the books here, one of my player as expressed interest in the setting and particurlaly in the gazeteer.

I agree on your assessment of those books. The RLPHB has been popping up now and then on eBay, so keep looking. However, if you only want the new info, you could always get the pdf.
You're also right regarding the other two: if you have Denizens of Dread, DoDarkness is pretty useless. And SotDR would be only useful for the completion sake, if you have the gazetteers. Not even the DM screen is worth the price; you'll be better set with one of the WotC's ones.
The Tarokka set would be the most difficult to get. I haven't seen it since I luckily got mine more than a year ago.

I haven't bought anything from them yet, but AFAIK, they're in the US.

I have bought from them and they are definitely American. I live in Montreal fyi.

Scipion if I see any interesting RL books for sale on ebay or anywhere else, I'll let you know. A good thing you can do is buy the pdf. Some sites sell them dirt cheap. Then print em out for less than 20$. I have two or three RL books like that.

I recently had some luck with bookfinder.com. It's a great site. Search by the isbn. Also keep looking on ebay for lots or auctions with unclear titles. (always search for ravenlof*, always search descriptions, save your search and let them email you when a new hit appears.) But your best bet for cheap copies will be brick and mortar shops or half price books.

I agree that Amazon secondary market prices are often insane, but they also show the trend that these books indeed are now oop and hard to find. That said the one thing on your list that truly is worth very much is the tarokka deck. It's a rare collectible and work of art.

I've noticed that books on Amazon will fluctuate in price like this and with little reason. Sometimes stuff that's going for $100 US on Amazon can be found at your local game store rather easily. Not to mention that although the shipping will cost more and take longer to arrive, you can order the books from a US site for a lot cheaper.

I just picked up the 2 3.x books I was missing, Legacy and Dark Tales.

The DM Screen comes with the Secrets of the Dread Realms.

You can usually find it for cheap on eBay since it is 3.0.

Same goes for Denizens of Darkness. Here's one.
