Tainted Lands, how much is it like Ravenloft?

Tainted Lands came out last year from Troll Lord Games. It uses the Castles & Crusades mechanics, including the Siege system.

For anyone who has played or read through the rules, how much is Tainted Lands like Ravenloft? I look for your thoughts, since I am not a Ravenloft expert.

Tainted Lands seems to be a horror fantasy system where the monsters try to keep you from escaping.

My take after a short browse is that Tainted Lands emphasizes more undead in contrast to Ravenloft's broader selection of monsters. It seems to be similar to Ravenloft in some ways, but in no way is it meant to be a Ravenloft clone.

There's a big to do about this product - It's apparently very poorly thought out, poorly written, and poorly edited. I'd recommend doing a cursory search on RPG.net for more information.
