Lucien tries to elude Zumba's grasp, but the bigger man manages to wrap his arm around the half-elf's neck. Zumba begins to squeeze, as though attempting to throttle him!

Wincing from the pain, Lucien still manages to gather his thoughts. Grasping the monk's choking arm, he sends a chaotic, dizzying wave of images into Zumba's mind -- nearly incomprehensible slivers of the many potential futures that lie ahead.

OK, although I haven't gotten a response to the OOC post, I don't want to hold things up. Concentration check (DC 21): 1d20+11=28. Success.

Standard: Lucien is expending 1 power point to manifest destiny dissonance. It's a Touch attack on Zumba: (1d20+5=15). If that's a success vs. Zumba's touch AC, then Zumba is sickened for 5 rounds (–2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks).

Round 1 of 5: The sonic damage continues on the Machine: 11 points of sonic damage, which ignores hardness; Reflex save 17 for half. Any creatures inside the machine at this time will take either the same damage (if they're IN the wall) or 6 points sonic if they're merely within 10 feet of the damaging side.

Zumba continues to grapple and pound away at Lucien, his eyes staring into the middle distance while he pummels his opponent. Then Lucien's hand impacts with the Capoeira's chest, and a feeling of nausea sweeps through him.

OOC: Zumba is sickened, and may make another Will save, DC 17.

Goren approaches the smaller black robe, his weapon raised for battle in the unnatural hush his god's favour has raised. No spell can be chanted -- and still the creature raises a hand and points it at him. Goren feels the air start to vibrate around him...!

OOC: Goren, roll a Reflex save, DC 19!

Orda staggers through the fog. To her right, she sees a whirl of activity; horrendous mixtures of man and beast, battling with the plodding undead in front of a localized sandstorm. To her left, she can dimly see a small group of more mundane figures battling near an ominous-looking monolith in dead silence.

Vincent lunges at his nemesis as nightmarish vision and reality come crashing together -- but just as in the nightmare, his opponent effortlessly fends off his attacks! Vincent's steel clashes and rings as the enemy bats it away from himself with his quarterstaff.

OOC: Much regret, friend Guzrath... but that was two swings and two misses. :-\ Better luck next round...

"There you are, boy," the hated figure says, his voice calm and urbane. "Took you long enough to find your way back to me."
Without another word, the larger black robe flicks his staff up and past Vincent's guard, up between his legs and straight into his vitals!
"Let us see whether the boy has become more of a man than he was the last time," the black robe says in a casual tone as he awaits another attack.

OOC: Ouch...! Vincent suffers 12 subdual damage! >_<

Zumba: sickened for 5 rounds
Smaller black robe
Vincent: -12 subdual damage
Goren
Orda
Lucien: - 10 hp
Larger black robe

Orda looks to both conflicts and with only a moments hesitation in her stride turns to the left charging in looking for signs of other honorable souls in this conflict between seemingly mortal people. The beastmen and undead while seemingly distracted and both obvious as possible targets for her rage, but if not for the suspicious sandstorm that seems to be around them she would have went that way. Her instinct however warned her from such an odd occurrence to let the monstrous things continue their battle.

Roaring in with her sword drawn she yells in barely passable Souragnien to the crowd at large... "I'M HERE TO SPEAK TO CHICKENBONE! WHERE IS HE?"

OoC: Orda attempts to move close or between the nearest conflict in this group and goes into full defense to see which side attacks her first...

Vincent sees his attacks get deflected easily. The pain he feels, combined with the words of the man abruptly cut off his chanting and slowly ....... he feels it creeping up..... fear...... failure.
Shaking his head to get rid of the upcoming fear, Vincent keeps moving about, pointing, slashing, looking for an opening "you are not alone this time Vincent" he thinks, convincing himself.

An opening......

OOC: Full Dodges bonusses on the large guy now (+2 AC)
Rapier 26, Crit Threat 18
Damage 9 (6+3)

Mace 20, Damage 5
Hope these attacks land...
Tresspassers will be shot......
Survivors will be shot again.

OOC: Tarlyn, if you make an attack, please put an attack roll in your IC post? Add a damage roll at the same time, in case it hits. ^^ Thank you.

Lucien, sensing that his formidable companion has shaken off the malevolent force in his mind, staggers away from Zumba as he seeks to regain his breath. "Well... well done, Zumba," he croaks. "And now..." Lucien turns his gaze toward the two cloaked figures -- and sees a towering woman warrior taking a defensive position nearby! And she has... blue skin?!

Hoping that the new arrival is not another threat, Lucien ignores her for the moment. He looks at the two TRUE enemies and concentrates. In his mind's eye, he sees the foes' future, depicted as two crimson threads spiraling from the bodies into the murky sky. With a vicious sneer, Lucien attempts to tie those threads together.

Zumba, nearby, catches the odd scent of ... strawberries?

Yay, Zumba is free!
Standard: Lucien expends 5 pp to manifest fate link to connect the two cloaked figures. I believe they're in range; if not, let me know, please. Will DC 17 for each to resist.
Remaining power points: 23.
Are "my" zombies fighting the beastmen?

Round 2 of 5: Thanks to the energy wall, the sonic damage continues on the Machine: 11 points of sonic damage, which ignores hardness; Reflex save 17 for half. Any creatures inside the machine at this time will take either the same damage (if they're IN the wall) or 6 points sonic if they're merely within 10 feet of the damaging side.

As if swimming from the depths of an abyss inside his brain, Zumba feels his will coming back to him. His hands relent, his eyes focus again and in shock he recognizes the head beneath his fists as belonging to a friend. In a sudden alarm, he realizes he has just shrugged off the dominion of someone else, and with a speed honed by years of agility carved by the violence of man unto man, and the harshness of his environment, he whirls around, away from Lucien, without giving him a single word.

His mind is now focussed on meeting the adversary responsible for that, and he will pay!

He sees in the distance Goren and Vincent, locked in battle. He tries to find the least obstructed path to Vincent and covers the distance to his enemy. With all his strength, he leaps into the vicinity of Vincent, and with panther-like grace and speed brings his hands to the floor, writhes his legs and aims a devastating kick at the enemy's chest.

Zumba's foot connects solidly with the hooded man's chest, and he grunts with pain. The kick actually forces him back a few steps...!

The smaller black robe hears Orda's shout, and calls out a quick reply: "Kill the red-haired man for me! I will take you to Chicken Bone once you do."

As the woman speaks, hideous pain suddenly erupts in Goren's chest! His insides feel as if they are being squeezed by a great fist, and he finds himself abruptly weeping blood...!

(OOC: Goren has to roll a Fortitude save of 18 to get half off of the whopping 35 damage he just took...!)

Vincent strikes, and strikes true, his blows raining on top of Zumba's kick and driving the hooded man even further back!

Nearby, the wounded Goren manages to place a solid blow on the smaller black robe, who cries out with mingled pain and anger.

Lucien's mind reaches out for the two hooded enemies, reaches... and glances off of them like water off a duck's back.
The shock of failure sends a brief thrill of fear through the Half-Elf, and the wand... pulses.

"We come."

(OOC: I rolled their saves, and they both came up 19. Honest. It was the darndest thing. Used invisible castle and everything.)

"Not strong enough to come for me yourself, boy?" the larger of the two hooded figures whispers as he whirls his staff, the heel narrowly missing Vincent's head. The next moment, the hooded figure is a blur of motion, cartwheeling away from Vincent and Zumba, and around the stone pillar.

"We come."

(OOC: He's-a tumblin' away, boys!)

"We come."

Only Zumba can hear the hideous mental 'voice'. But everyone can hear the ghastly, hungry moaning approach through the fog. Everyone can hear the dull plodding of feed approach.

The zombies are coming.

And for whatever reason, the spell of silence has been broken. The high-pitched screech of the sonic wall cuts through the air like a knife, even as it contends with the bass growling and crackling of the machine as it fights for survival.

Zumba: sickened for 4 rounds
Smaller black robe -5 hp
Vincent: -12 subdual damage
Goren: - 17 hp
Orda
Lucien: - 10 hp
Larger black robe: - 24 hp

Orda looks over the small robed figure and quickly and tries to decide if the offer is good... Turning to scan as well for the red haired man in question. While asking her to kill another flat out makes her suspicious of the black robed figure, still that does not ease her doubt...

But she does not like not knowing who to hit and she grits her teeth as she roars through them "RRRGGGHHHAAAAA" in frustration.

Goren cringes as he is hit with a nasty bit of a spell! He will use his spell Weapon of the Deity and attack the closest foe. Hopefully it will be the one who cast the spell on him.

Zumba sees the man trying to escape and runs after him, staff in hand, ready to strike.

OOC: If able to close in and attack in the same round, here is the attack roll:

He also goes for Fiery Fist first.
Attack with bare hands: 1d20+6: 23 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3731241/

Dmg: 1d8 + 1d6 + 2: 9
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3731242/

(I know I put +7, but that was a mistake, thinking I would be attacking with quarterstaff.)

Lucien reaches out with his mind, sending his thoughts through the wand to attempt to contact the approaching zombies.

He immediately regrets it. The sensation is akin to plunging into the cold, rank sewers of Pont-a-Museau, and it's all he can do to avoid throwing up. Free Chicken Bone...! is the only thought he can muster before ending the psychic contact.

He then sees one of the cloaked figures spryly evade Zumba and Vincent and duck behind the pillar. "Damn it, no more shadows..." he mutters angrily. He reaches out his mind again, this time to a more familiar target.... Claude, quickly! Move to a spot where you can see that man behind the pillar!

In his mind, he hears, Well, it's about time, Lucien. I've been slowly sinking into this muck... The crystalline construct again creates bizarre, spidery legs out of its body and moves as commanded, just enough to see where the man went, but no farther.

___________________________
Minor or Move: Use the wand to try to sense what's going on with the zombies, since they're obviously responding to a summons that isn't from Lucien.
Move: The psicrystal moves as commanded.

Round 3 of 5: Thanks to the first energy wall, the sonic damage continues on the Machine: 11 points of sonic damage, which ignores hardness; Reflex save 17 for half. Any creatures within 10 feet of the damaging side take 6 points sonic. Any creatures dumb enough to walk through the wall take 16 points sonic.
