Birthright 2: Promises to Keep OOC
What is this?
The sequel to the Birthright: Tuornen game
Who can play?
Anyone with an active character carried over from the first game who would be plausibly be involved in one of two quests:
Going into CROAKER NORGE on the Eve of the Dead to help Duke Devlin fulfill his pledge to the witch, Maeve
Helping Foerde search for the girl, Gael, who was kidnapped by elves.
I retain final call on who is in and out, as always,. It's not about excluding anyone, but just about keeping things manageable and fun for both the players and for me. Ditto on capping group size.

Noted. You may assume he's with Foerde's wee party now.
Feel free to bring some of your men if you like, but remember that each one you pull from other duties is, well, pulled from other duties. Like protecting the family interests and family members (besides Renn).
This game starts about six months after the last one ended.
Winter, now.
Stuff happened in between. I leave much of that up to player creativity, with my authority coming in just to keep things plausible and consistent.
The search for Gael has been long, hard, and so far not very fruitful.
You might think of
THE SEARCHERS.
Have you seen that flick?

If Renn wants to start off with Foerde that is cool but if not they could meet else where. Like Foerde's house or the Old Oak.
History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quiet deeds. History remembers the battle and forgets the blood. What ever history remembers of me if it remembers me at all, it shall only be the fraction of the truth.

In that case let's say that Renn has been traveling with Foerde already, that way I don't have to slow down the plot with introductions.
Renn will keep most of his retainers back in Ghonallison. Taking too many 0th level fighters would probably jeopardize a tracking mission anyway. But he'll take Sevet and Gatt with him since they have the most relevant outdoor skills.
You bet your sweet bippy I've seen The Searchers. Renn's attitude towards elves in general and The Manslayer in particular are decidedly Ethan-esque.

Hahaha I was looking for a map, and if you do a Google Image Search for "Tuornen," a good proportion of the first ten hits are our character portraits from the last game, including Rob in garb.

Cool.
The woman who just left the (FOERDE'S QUEST) party is a half-breed. Part elf, part human.
Fhylie the Sword, head of the Militant Order.

Noted. I will add Lord Filbert to the roster.
CHRONO NOTE-
It's evening in the first scene, not sundown but the mists welling up from the Norge make the area dark enough that lanterns are needed for searching and for safety.
Second scene takes place around the same date. Mid-morning.
The two quests likely will NOT line up chronologically the whole game.
Devlin's quest has just begun.
Foerde's we enter in media res.

This wouldn't be a party without Roald, sign me up.
Roald promised Foerde to help him track down his ward after the war with Alamie was concluded, so that's where he would be.

Noted.
I thought about splitting the thread in two, but this is all the same campaign and the paths of characters may cross in ways I can predict as well as ways I cannot predict (I'm not running this on tracks; your choices will guide the campaign development).
It may be helpful to use headers, as Brock has done.
So-
CROAKER NORGE
and PECHALLIN
That sort of thing. Players can then track scenes by simply looking at the top of any given post and seeing the SCENE TITLE.

Looks like Gunnar (played by Skybolt) will join Deviln's quest, but I won't make that official until I see a post from him.
