Anything Filbert can roll to recognize the effect?

Yeap. But I don't know how he would take that at the time. He will seek her later though.

Result:

Evil taint lingers on the site of Elf Hill.
But it has diminished.

Necromantic taint weakened.

Undead presences ( the dead men who walked) just gone.

1500 XP to each PC for recent actions.
We'll keep it simple, as certain players dislike looking back, and as most of the important recent stuff was group/ team action.

Adjust for PR and/or non blooded PC status, natch.

This is an addition to all previous earned XP, and covers these recent chapters/scenes.

I will let you guys write your own epilogues.

Info you may want to use:

The blasting apart of Elf Hill reveals an ancient treasure hoard.
Once Isolde and others clerics have blessed the gold, silver, and other valuable stuff, it no longer shows the slightest taint of evil.
Erin Hunter distributes the stuff among everyone who fought or served, though of course the common spear carriers just get a gold coin or a handful of silver. That's a nice guard on for such ordinary, mostly or, men.
Higher ranking people get more.

Any PC who accepts treasure gets 200 GP worth.
Alternatively, he may take an iron and brass rod of curious design found on the surface. If more than one player character claims that, dice for it. D10. Highest roll wins.

The Sheriff arrived late, so his men get no reward, unless somebody donates money to them. Good way to win a rep for generosity to the rabble.

The maggots left nasty, nasty bites. But between clerical healing and Gunnar's excellent medic, that can be treated.

Only three men died. All locals. Names: Addy, Brock, and Stefanus.

Word arrives the day after the battle, perhaps while people are recuperating at The Auld Oak, that the Duke's wedding was pushed back a couple of days for security concerns after a poisoning attempt was thwarted ( the poisoner arrested and his toxins stopped with Cranstel's antitoxin). This means anyone of the PCs might still attend, if he gets a move on.

A bit later:
Ducal agents will want those writs returned for destruction, after crying confirms the Crone has been " taken into the Pit."

Other awards:

The Duke grants GUNNAR a coat of arms. Not full on noble rank, but " armiger."
Choose it, Skybolt.

RENN is still the Watch Captain. The coming, swift purge of disloyal and corrupt elements will allow him to appoint more men loyal to him, natch. ;)

SAFANA may pick one new spell. Player should request. If Caine knows it, he teaches her. If he does not, he will pay for the research and let her use his library.

TERMELAN has missed too many rehearsals for that play...but his part in all this has made him famous enough in the local area that two different theatrical companies offer him work in the spring season.

DOMENICA is fully admitted , or readmitted, into Haes society. Including wedding invite. This brings her new clients and contacts. Plus 1 to next intrigue action or to next create/ rule guild holding action.

Robin Ghonallison sends word to Renn to tell ROALD FLAERTES that he, the Count, would be pleased to see a marriage alliance with House Flaertes. Meaning Roald and Renn's sister.
But Roald also receives a similiar message from Bramm, Count of Elevesnemiere, about Erin
Hunter.
(wis check reveals Erin is not so keen on the idea, though not why...)

FILBERT is awarded the Three Penny, the Crone's old hideout and biz.

CORMAC gains a potential ally (as does Renn) when the Brown Knight moves into the northern Tuor border late in the winter. A number of the robber knight's men join Cormac's rural temple.

FOERDE has already gained invaluable prizes: his life, his freedom, his family.
But more than that, a winter spent in the company of his daughter and of his new friend, Tarala, gives him greater access to ancient lore. Maybe he wil learn of a new quest?

Termelan was also front row in most of the action and can interview people about the fight with the Orogs earlier...
He's not going to theatre, he's telling the story he lived through.

He asks Safana to wait a day or two so he can tell the story of the battle of the elfhill along with her illusions in Haes. He would advertise that he'll tell the story beforehand and if Safana agrees, will rehearse with her what will go in. He plans to "unveil" the story with grandeur and visual help.

and of course, it'll be at the 3 penny.

Domenica has job offers to both Termelan and Safana both in different capacities.

Filbert will not claim the rod.

He will use the money to renovate his new inn and will change the name in Halfling's den. All his companions are welcome to stay there if they want to and Termelan can perform there whenever he wants.

Filbert will ask Domenica's help to run the inn.

Obviously Filbert will attend the ducal wedding and will keep his ambasador duties. HE will just ask for someone to help him run the inn together.

Noted. Other IC and OOC questions may be answered via PM. Or just post it here, if it isn't secret.

And if anybody was tracking individual XP (Alhoon disliked that, but maybe others were doing it) let me know. You might score a big more.

Wow, totally excellent Raiders of the Lost Ark Ending, Wayne.

Let's do the Scooby Doo ending now, where the crone turns out to be old Mr. Withers from the amusement park.

Cormac accepts the gold unless a compelling reason comes along to throw lots for the rod. He'll give 50 to the sheriff to split among his men, and another 50 later to the Brown Knight for his aid during the expedition into elf-lands (all compliments of the church of Erik, natch.)

He'll spend some time catching up with Foerde and do what he can to help get him back on his feet (help find his animals, repair the damage at his house, etc) before returning back to his men at the church.
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Heh, hard to tell if that is cheerful sarcasm or actual disapproval.

Van and Alhoon may be pleased to not that Nat 20 NWP failures afflict NPCs every once in a while.
It's not always the PC rogues, lol.
