SEARCHERS

Okay,
VIEW CONTENT:
based on feedback from players and spell like effects in play, have gone ahead and posted a SEARCHERS scene

You guys picked whatever ambush site you liked.

If anyone has relevant skills or training that would help him set up and ambush (and , really, all three PCs are well-suited for that) he can make rolls now. Otherwise the chosen site will give a chance for surprise but nothing special.

Good rolls may increase chance for surprise, give high ground bonus, enable Sir Boarholt to charge with his warhorse in a single pass, etc.

Fumbles may botch it; but since there are three of you and you all have relevant skills, I may allow a success to cancel a fumble.

You may also declare your basic plan.
As in, are you suing spells right off?

Missile fire?
Running up close and melee?

Anything held back?

The hilly, lightly wooded terrain hereabouts is , based on what you know of elves, more likely to hinder you than them unless you choose it well enough to negate their strange wilderness skills/powers.
There are also clear and grassy areas and gentler slopes.
This isn't like the steeper foothills in Pechallin.

You can either make your own transition scene or just jump into the meeting scene with the Archprelate.
It's open for you now, as per PM.

As per your suggestion Ewan, Termelan will try to gather info in the Rivershide, will try to compose ballads to sing and music to play and will "beta test" them in the streets and alleys of the city (if street performances are allowed) or in the slums.

It seems to have reacted to your party's movement.

No telling if elves in the woods noticed...

Roald's Nat 20 NWP check for timing mounted charge messes up first round.

He jumps the gun, and he and Sir Boarholt come thundering out a little too soon.

Initiative!

Possible crit on Roald's horse

[dice]0[/dice]

Not quite!

From multiple hits, his horse takes 4d6 damage

[dice]1[/dice]

That doesn't kill his warhorse, but it does injure the beast.

Provokes an immediate riding NWP check to stay in the saddle/control the animal.

[dice]2[/dice]

He keeps control and remains firmly seated.

Fumble check (to hit based, a miss/low roll equals a bad result) for shot against Sir Boarhort's horse

[dice]3[/dice]

That elf misses his next shot, cancelling what could have been a hit.

Boarhort's armor and shield keep him from being hurt, although his shield sprouts an arrow.

Roald takes some damage.

Let's check that possible crit on him

[dice]4[/dice]

Not quite good enough. Not a crit.

He does take [dice]5[/dice]
