Andre bore a [[the ruby pendant\|a magical pendant]] that prevented him from contracting [[the Fever]], whereas his brother suffered from the wasting [[disease]] and became [[disfigured]] for it. To enact his revenge, Joron stole the pendant and [[entombed]] Andre alive in the [[cornerstone of Carnival l'Morai]].
