Like the rest of her family, Nightingale was born to a noble family in [[Kara-Tur]]. Named for her extraordinary [[singing]] voice, Nightingale's [[song]]s were so rapturous it endeared her to the very [[god]]s themselves. Yet Nightingale's innocent and goodly nature alienated her wicked sisters and mother, though Tsien Chiang [[manipulated]] Nightingale to fulfill evil ends more than Tsien Chiang's other daughters. Like the fathers of Tsien Chiang's other daughters, Tsien Chiang [[murdered]] Nightinggale's father.<ref>IoT p. 32</ref> Like the rest of her family, Nightingale was born to a noble family in [[Kara-Tur]]. Tsien Chiang eventually constructed the [[Bells of Evil and Lament]], one for each her daughters to hold their respective [[soul]]s (and a little bit of hers). The Bells kept the daughters from growing old, but it also made them puppets to her will.<ref>IoT p. 33</ref> Tsien Chiang eventually constructed the [[Bells of Evil and Lament]], one for each her daughters to hold their respective [[soul]]s (and a little bit of hers).
