The experiment seemingly failed, wiping out any seeming [[corruption]] that Count Wilhelm had suffered before and was seemingly unable to fail any more [[powers checks]]. The Fraternity interpreted this as [[the Dark Powers]] catching onto their scheme and now ignoring the Count. However, in truth, the Dark Powers have [[transformed]] the Count into their puppet and employ him to sabotage the Fraternity's efforts.<ref name="QtR 13 p. 77">[[Quoth the Raven Issue 13]] p. 77</ref>
