Honestly, it is part of the whole 4E thing. They love giving the players and DM's re-rolls for some reason. Maybe one of their playtests had a person who was like "I LOVE REROLLING AND SO DOES EVERY OTHER GAMER!!!"

Actually that thread and a couple of others kind of inspired this thread. I didn't want to focus on the hags necessarily but rather gauge community interest in revamping the darklords a bit. However the writing in the Hags thread and the Tepest thread is some real good stuff that is for sure.
