Re: The Sheltered Isles

A fair point, but there can be a gap between wanting something and being able to get it. I may see my neighbor's new car, but I can't necessarily afford it. In this case, we are talking about a single nation, so if Crublu has all of this technology, they certainly have the means to share it or imple...

Re: Ravenloft Homebrew Clusters

Lilliend is Rock's invention, as is the rest of the Wartorn Cluster. He would know the current status. I believe most Hub domains were from 4th edition Dragon magazine articles, or something similar, which the FoS was trying to put together into a Core-sized cluster. I sense it is not an area of act...

Merry Christmas!

Does Santa normally require a verbal invitation to enter a house? The fang marks I woke up with this morning make me suspicious.

Count Rugen! I win!
I did double check to make sure I remembered it right. According to Wikipedia, his first name is Tyrone, which I didn't remember.

Copied over from the other errata thread : As Jeremy16 mentioned in his review on the Conch Shell of Sorrows... The Conch Shell of Sorrows ] Framing Fiction - I like seeing the Umbra make an appearance, but that afterword should have been placed, you know, at the end. I agree so if it is possible pl...

Re: Vampyre vampire?

That is better than my idea. Given that Forlorn is culturally analogous to Scotland, I was considering pronouncing "Goblyn" with an exaggerated Scottish accent. Scotland, not Wales? What's with the Ap in the names? I was going off of the information in the Study , which claims Forlorn and...

Re: Vampyre vampire?

On paper, changing a letter can make words look extra cool, but the undifferentiated pronunciation makes for a real pain in practice. Maybe you can pronounce the letter "y" as in Finnish language. It resembles more a sound similar to "ew" https://www.facebook.com/herfinland/vide...

Re: Vampyre vampire?

I actually liked the explanation that the first Blade movie gave for his dhampir status; that he was not the son of a human and a vampire, but that he had been contaminated with whatever transformative agent is in a vampire's saliva in utero , because a vampire attacked his mother. The vampire atta...

Re: Dragonlance 3.5 classes are suited to Ravenloft.

I see what you are saying. In Heart of Midnight you can see Harkon Lukas use some magic, which I assumed was part of his Darklord abilities, but may have actually been a spell (I recall something from Conferences where Victor improves on one of Lukas' spells). Lukas aside, there are plenty of perfo...

4. You can sell your soul to the mist creatures that look like demons or devils. What they do with the souls is a mystery. Perhaps they use them to become more real. When first generated, the mist fiends are just a façade that will fade back into the mists when the calling has run its course, but i...

Re: Alchemical Philosopher 3E frustrations: fixing it

Looking at the PrC, you can see this is a class that is all about production. It allows you to make things by giving you a whole slew of bonus item creation feats. Entering the PrC means you want to be that guy; the master alchemist bottling miracles and defying the natural order in ways other clas...

Cremation isn't considered to be desecration everywhere. I will give you that. I was thinking more along the lines of cutting off Victor's head and stuffing his mouth with garlic. Even so, cremation can be risky. Victor has enemies. Some of them are transmuters, capable of transmuting one thing int...
