The thing is they don't know that the "Immortals" are "undead". They don't know that you have to die to unlive forever... Oh... I guess I missed that! But yeah - you definitely have a very sound basis for a campaign in what you've described thus far. And I have to agree as...

For example, you say a Paladin has to accept a surrender. Yet in the very description for Lawful Good, it says "Alhandra, a paladin who fights evil without mercy ...". Can you really not see how people can have disagreements over how to play a Paladin, the Code, alignment, and so on? FWIW...

I started with the black box edition, and I was still in highschool. I had no idea what I was doing at first, but is was lots of fun. I dont think any product before or since has been able to compare with how great that was. At laeast not to my mind. When I had first started playing it was with The...

Preacher, meet choir. I am so there with you. Seriously though, the largest problem I have with this project is where to start. I know where I want him to go. I know what he'll do when he gets there. My problem is getting him to that point. He's no where near ready to face DarkLords, yet. He's no l...

I pretty much started off as a DM in 1991 for my middle school friends, on a homegrown world ("The Enixine"). When we got to high school, they fought against a powerful lich, so I saw Van Richten's Guide to the Lich and bought it. That opened up a whole can of worms, I can tell you! Halfw...

I have always wanted to play in a game set ni an ancient Rome. I know I romanticize it, but I think it would rock. (i even think that a good idea for the feel of Darkon is to make it Bysantine, like the inheritors of Rome and Classical culture, with the backwaters being like conquered and forgotten ...

Jander's statistics under the previous editions' rules were limited by the old AD&D systems' level-limits for demihumans. IIRC, elves couldn't go much past 8th level as fighters back then (maybe 10th tops?), so Jander's original race-limited stats may have seemed too wimpy for the sorts of foes...

i know my DM is REALLY well read in Ravenloft lore - he's been running it since it's been possible to run Ravenloft - so I don;t put it past him... A livign saint... who is a good soul... but unwittingly begins to serve some other agenda, not entirely wholesome. I would relish the irony of it all a...

I must say I agree with all of you. Thanks for your comments. To keep fighting is all about in Ravenloft. Obviously, is not possible for any character to destroy ALL of the Darklords and the land itself. In my humble opinion, I'd turn the fight to the character itself. The fight against the evil wi...

Dark Tales and Disturbing Legends from Sword&Sorcery/Arthaus/Whitewolf. The western feel is exactly what I intended. The cleric is to represent the official church priest (a catholic in the real world) and the voodan class is for the ...well voodoo hedge priests. (see also the earlier parts of ...

If I may... I think one of the ways to deal with this, in Ravenloft abyways, is to turn to alternate authorities, not necessarily civil authorities, btu I, as a DM, would encourage to have my players turn to those they felt had a Moral authority. Like, say, a church, or even a specific individual wi...

Now, who's coming over to Montreal for gaming and drinks? (after my school work, of course... )

I know there are others around here... there... don't be shy!!!

I'm pretty sure Steve is correct, but regardless, a natural weapon would indeed make the spellcaster count as armed and threatening at all times. Improved Unarmed Strike basically just functions as a sort of natural weapon for people, and having a natural weapon works basically the same way as havi...
