Yet Another Toben Topic

Since I wanted to share how I'm using everyone's favourite undead hivemind, I opened another post for everyone to share their stories. (SE SEI UNO DEI MIEI PG NON LEGGERE! CI SONO SPOILER!) In my campaign, the PCs fought Toben many times. After some time, they discovered it to be connected with the ...

Ohhh, no. Ohhh, no no no no NO. This is everything that's wrong with standard D&D. Van Richten is a symbol of how the PCs are supposed to take down monsters in Ravenloft; research the daylights out of them, be smart instead of necessarily being strong, and then, when you're as prepared as you'r...

Perhaps a shifter in Ravenloft could be what you get when an attempt to rid someone of lycanthropy mostly works? Dunno, in fact being a shifter means having useful powers, having feats meant to improve them, shifting only a number of times per day (and igìf I'm not wrong, whenever you want)... It's...

"And come on, the magic train! Not the magic train!" Yeah its ridiculus that in a setting where magic is omnipresent that it replace science  Honestly the magic train is really a great idea! It allow the characters to move quickly from place to place, a bit like the magic mist in RL...

Eberron gets bashed because it's popular and Ravenloft isn't. We're the middle-child and it's the baby so we resent the continued attention. Uh, no, in fact I'm an Eberron basher because I think it's full of very bad ideas (beside very good ones) and mechanically very power-creepy. And come on, the...

Warforged are not very gothic per se, more steampunkish, I don't see a race of construct being easy to integrate in the Core.

What are shifters again?

Yeah, that's a problem about how poison i handled in D&D; after all your character can survive a fireball, why should some arsenic kill him? One of my players proposed a slightly modified method in which poison deals less damage (like 1d4 instead of 1d8) but is Fort half instead of Fort neg, so ...

From what we know/think to know, the ToUD shouldn't masterminded directly by the DP, but more by some of the great players in RL, like Azalin and the GC. (so many abbreviations...)
