If you want maps, check out the Mordent Cartographic Society. Has loads of them, even if it hasn't been updated in years I don't think.

How's this look? I decided against giving him items, since he's already a fair bit more powerful then the PCs. I did however, give him a few minions, Rank One Ancient Dead Monks 2. ---------------------------------------- The Guardian of the Shard, Abbé Matthieu The Abbé Matthieu appears in death as...

I like how you think! Retribution against heretic monks tended to be, shall we say, strenous. How would you reconcile the two prior posts though? (If you could) If Nidalan monasteries are essentially priestly training grounds, they can't simultaneously be borderline hotbeds of heresy. Or would they ...

Good ideas, but a little over-complicated.

I'm already introducing new stuff a-plenty, I would like to limit that if I can, especially when there are so many good salient abilities already. I may steal one from the vampire or lich lists, now that I think about it.

Well, far as the players know, he's a dead guy who doesn't act very dead. With spells, my main concern with that is that he can only cast spells up to 2nd level, and theres only one of him, so I was thinking he may be better off simply charging in and not let the PCs either get several hits on him f...

Well, I'm going to take a guess that those religions aren't all that monolithic. In the old Catholic Church in the middle ages, there were people who enforced laws (inquisitors), those that proselytized (missionaries), those that lived in cloistered orders (monks), and those that simply traveled aro...

Ancient Dead?

Greetings and Salutations, fellow shadow dwellers. Recently I've been working on a boss-encounter for an adventure, and to that end I decided to make an Ancient Dead. The basic premise is a member of the Order of the Guardians that guards after death. He's a rank 3 Ancient Dead, Cleric3/Monk3. And I...

Fro-zen-Rea-ches! Fro-zen-Rea-ches! Fro-zen-Rea-ches! I mean, eternal winter, boyars, Darklord that turns into a woof-woof with a belt, what's not to like? It hasn't been detailed in Ezra knows how long, so why not? Plus, Russian folklore (which it's based on), has so many cool and unused monsters. ...
