Spider crouched on the tree branch and looked down at the bubbling brook that flowed about teen feet away from the tree?s trunk. The foliage was growing sparse in the late autumn season, but there were still enough leaves to give the deformed halfling some concealment. After several moments of anxi...

"I don't mind the excitement and intrigue," Vincent says as he smiles sardonically at Gabriel's comment, "but the idea of getting a knife in my back isn't quite what I was looking for." Without saying another word, Vincent leads his friend through a couple more streets and backal...

After seceurely tying his halberd to the side of his horse, Sarinjo climbed up and spurred his mount forward. The trip to Hazlan would take some time, but he was not in a big hurry to get there. If it took longer for him to get to his destination, then he would have a longer time before he would ha...

A halfling walks into the Cafe

Gabriel Rayne and Vincent Reignheart ran down the moonlit street and around the corner of a large warehouse. Taking a few moments to catch their breaths in the alley, Vincent peaks around the building to see if he can spot their follower. ?It looks clear at the moment,? the young man said with a sl...

Quick Reminder: I've noticed that a large portion of our group hasn't been posting very much the past couple of weeks. While a couple people have notified me of school obligations, the rest haven't mentioned anything to me. I don't want to be cutting people out, but you need to notify me if you are...

Christopher McGee watched as his two companions left on their respective missions. Sarinjo, the Rokuma warrior, headed southeast toward Hazlan. His fighter's prowess and special abilities would prove very effective against that weapon-heavy group. Spider, the corrupt halfling, headed mostly east to...

A dark figured lurked in a lab hidden deep within the Tepestani forests. Gnarled but nimble fingers worked on the mutilated corpse that lay upon the stone slab before him. Taking a deep breath, the sour smells of several types of chemicals sifted through his leather mask and up into his nose. While...

Yes, Whisper, you are correct about that. While we know that some planes can shift and change depending upon the beliefs of its inhabitants, Hell still follows its structure of old. I made the appropriate alterations to the poll...

The trio of misfit mercenaries stood outside of Malocchio Aderre's great hall as they discussed their next plan of action. They had learned that the crystal, which had been taken over fifty years ago, was in the possession of one of the group members. Unfortunately, they did not know which person c...

As for choosing one story as my favorite, I really don't think that I could. Each one of the three stories had their strong points and weaknesses. Plus, with there being three different authors, you get the chance to taste a different style and flavor for each of the stories. :)

I think Goliath could have been listed as fiction, though... Thanks, Xanthippe! Yes, some of the other articles could have been listed as being fiction (such as Goliath , the Gentleman Caller , and Scotty's Ghost ) and were also very well written. I have to say, despite the Comic-book Guy quote on ...

Ooops! :? With all the work I've been doing with various people for the next issue, my mind skipped ahead a number. Yes, I meant for it to be issue seven (thus, the three stories being for said issue).

“And just how did you learn about them?” Malocchio asked with a sneer. Not only were these people a fright to look at, but they knew more than he felt was comfortable with them knowing. Christopher pulled his thick lips back in a large, mocking smile. “Our employer…” “The Metallic Dragon,” Sarinjo i...
