I had considered going to GenCon this year, but life ended up being a lot busier than what I had anticipated. Between family and work, I decided against going year. I might make the trip next year, though.vipera aspis wrote:Anyone going to gencon this year?
On a side note, some of the Midwestern members of this board have been discussing getting together somewhere in the Chicagoland area. I actually sent a message to you, vipera, about three weeks ago. However, it doesn't appear that you've checked your messages.

Yeah, we've been tossing this idea around for a long time over at Monte Mal. If it ever happens, it'll be pretty cool.Jason of the Fraternity wrote:On a side note, some of the Midwestern members of this board have been discussing getting together somewhere in the Chicagoland area. Finally made the plunge and am going this year. Always wanted to, but couldn't for whatever reason. It'll probably be my last big con for a while too, so I'm planning to game, game, game as long as I can stay awake.

Re: meetup
In order to keep this conversation from sidetracking, I'll start a different thread to discuss gather a group together for the Chicagoland people. However, if we get enough interested people involved from Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, then we could probably meet somewhere such as Gurnee...vipera aspis wrote:[jason]okay, totaly just checked my messages. yes let do this. what days are good for you? nights? when? where? i'll help however i can. we can gather the lower WI crew maybe.

Gen Con is usually a blast, and I'll be there this year, but I may not have a lot of free time. I'll actually be working!
I'm running several DragonMech events for Goodman Games. (It's fun work, even though I've been too busy to frequent these boards as much as I used to.)
Still, if anyone wants to meet for a couple of beers, let me know! I'll always make time for that.
I'll likely be loitering around the GG booth between events (or watching Z-Man Games' kung fu movie festival).
