Van Richten's guide to the Mists

Post by Don Fernando »

I was wondering when VRGtM is going to be avaliable for download. And maybe if any of you have some more information about this "free download".

Thanks! :D

From the official announcement over on the Ravenloft page at Arthaus.com, "... that the RAVENLOFT supplement Van Richten's Guide to the Mists will not see print. Sword & Sorcery Studios will release the unproofed manuscript (by authors Carla Hollar and Rucht Lilavivat and outgoing developers Jackie Cassada and Nicky Rea) as a free download available at http://www.swordsorcery.com. The manuscript will be available this September."

I expect they will not set a date for release, we will see it when we see it. I'm sure that it will be announced on this board when it does get released.

It has been mentioned by Dark Duo elsewhere on this forum that the text for VRGttM was largely editted, so it will not be an untreated block of manuscript.

So we are looking forward to a good version of this book. Well at least, it has been edited. On the other hand, editing has always been a major issue in RL 3rd Ed. Let's hope we get a nice free product.

We're getting a properly laid out 100+ page product for free. How is that not a nice product in and of itself?

It may not have art and it may not have gone through the final edit process. I think that we can be more forgiving with this one under the circumstances.
The Remnants have one saying to represent loss, disappearance, exile, and death. It is Shiao Marests, "Taken by The Shadows".

It will be a pdf, laid out like a proper book, don;t rememebr if art was mentioned, but I am not expecting it. So side bars will be present to help keep things understandable :)
