HMB you can twist the curse any way you like but I will never respect Drakov Until I see him going out and doing things for HIMSELF. The only respectable quality I found in the legend I read of in high school was his willingness to go out and get his hands dirty. He didn't hide behind armies. He may not have taken part in EVERY execution, but I got the feeling that he was at least involved
Tepes and Drakov are incomparable. When you boil down to it, the only character that is comparable to the historical Vlad Dracula is Strahd before the end of the war with the 'tergs'. And even then, it's still a loose comparison.

The name 'Vlad Drakov' is tied to the character strictly for the aethestic act of impaling people. Vlad Dracula just happens to be the most popular of all leader that were impalers. Impalement, however, was not strictly tied to Tepes.

Drakov's impalement is instead a tribute to his brutality. Whether Drakov gets his hands dirty or not, he's still an absolute sadist. A person does not need to respect a dark lord in order for him to be a good one. I personally think that Alfred Timothy is a little wench, but I also know that his patheticness is part of his character. Darklords aren't characters to be admired. Understood, pitied, amused by, but certainly not admired. They are, after all, Gothic Horror Villians.

Since when are you supposed to respect him? Hell, nobody in the Core does!

Excellent point. I see Drakov as respected because he has the power. In his back, his Minister fear his pathetic folly.

Meanwhile, his Ministers created a sophisticated machine of repression and population control.

I just watched 12 Angry Men starring Henry Fonda. The moment the film ended I felt like coming back to this thread.

I think this is indicative of something. Fortunately, I'm not trying to persuade anybody of anything.
