HuManBing, I used the picture of the mouthless guy with black eyes that you posted last year in a game last weekend. My players were definitely creeped out by it -- good one, thanks for posting! I used it as a random encounter in the Mists. My PCs were traveling through the Mists with a Vistani caravan, and I had them see a small group of the mouthless beings off to the side of their path. They could hear them "talking" to one another, as if they had mouths, which was the creepy part. I didn't flesh them out and there was no connection to the plot of my game, but they made for a great illustration of the creepiness of the Mists and a great random benign encounter. Thanks for posting!

An evening begun skimming my campaign wiki ended with me fooling around in GIMP again.

I got a bunch of pictures by this artist, Ayami Kojima (no relation to the Metal Gear Solid Kojima)

Ooh, nice! I think that looks like the artwork for the later Castlevania games. That androgynous white haired character especially looks like Dracula's child, Alucard.

You would be correct! She did the art for Symphony of the Night, as well as half a dozen or so other titles in the series. I was disappointed when I saw that she wasn't working with them for Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, but Order of Ecclesia had a good artist, so I sucked it up for that one

This picture is based on Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, aka Dracula X. Get the Wii Virtual Console port if you can; it's based on the original PC Engine game and not the butchered SNES one. You actually play the end of the game at the start of SotN when Richter faces Dracula.

The two medieval-styled ones at the bottom make me think of Sergei and Stradh. Or Jander and Strahd.

Yeah, I mentioned that once in a thread specifically about her. It went poorly. :/
Really? I hadn't heard anything about this (either the worse things that she was accused of, or her purported innocence). Do you have any links to additional information?

(And why would it have gone poorly? :) )

I can't speak for HMB's portion, but getting the popular account is as easy as Google or Bing. I'd sooner not link to anything; it violates Gonzoron's "grandma rule" IMO.

It's not my rule, it's the whole frat's rule, but I thank you for keeping it in mind. I don't think a historical account of alleged crimes violates the grandma rule, though. go ahead and link to it, with a warning if you like. I won't hold it against you.

I already know the popular account of the Bathory legend, I was just interested in the 'worse things' that she was accused of. (The worst I've heard of is the blood-bath thing...) I hadn't heard about any recent evidence exonerating her for any of her crimes. Sorry for bringing it up if it violates the rules, I didn't realize.

Until we see the link, I don't see how it would. Unless it's someone's porn fan-fic about her or something? Anyway, no need to tiptoe around the rule. We don't really invoke it that often, and if we do, no biggie, we'll just edit away the offending stuff.

A better design than the Talon helmet described in Gaz II.
