:) Ah, then Mordent is from Auqaria/Oerth, too.

*Insists on his theory about the I series*

Barovia's planar origin hasn't been established, either. It's unlikely to have been Faerun or Mystara -- they're much too magic-heavy -- and Krynn's tightly-defined pantheon doesn't include any place for Andral (Barovia's original sun god), but Oerth is marginally possible. More likely, though, Strahd came from a world that was never published as a game setting ... a possibility that was deliberately left open by the Kargat, since it preserves more of Barovia's mystery if we know little about the Von Zarovich homeworld.

Barovia's definitely not from Gothic Earth, as it was never Christian like the equivalent Slavic nations.

As it has been discussed on several older threads here and at WotC, one can assume that the entire I series was originally done for the never-published Aquaria setting that was supposed to be set on Oerth, east of the Flanaess.

So, that would be no problem...

*Eager not to start the old Aquaria/Barovia discussion again*

What really would interest me is if YokoburiKinura really came to use I10 for his/her MotRD campaign... Would be interesting to discuss the posisible changes...
