IIRC, the trapped one... Freed, I'd increase him to 60, I think...

As I said, it was in 2E, so it was following the 2nd Edition version of Gwydion that was presented at the end of the Prince of Shadows adventure in the Shadow Rift accessory. You fought things like his tentacle, withering eye, fist, hoof, etc... it was pretty silly and very easy to defeat, even if the rest of the party were nor laying unconcsious at the bottom of the stairway leading up to the Gate after it collapsed under them. Aaaaahhhh... the wonders of a ring of levitation, heheheh.

Plus, the battle was made easier by the fact I had a few magic missiles and a fireball to back me up. I think I may have had another firebal on a scroll, not sure.

After playing that adventure, I beefed it up a bit when I DM'd it 11 characters of 8th to 10th level struggled against him then, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

All that battle (it lasted nearly the entire 8 hour session!) and the favourite moment of the adventure for most of them was aiding some shadow fey repair a broken bridge, typical...

I think I would give Elena more levels of (ex) paladin and fewer of blackguard, just because she had such a long history fighting evil on her own world, but that's a picayune point.

Keep in mind that in the blackguard class a character can trade in high levels of paladin for levels of blackguard. Since she does not understand that she has fallen from grace, she would probably make this trade.

She might assume that the evil powers she gained as a blackguard were her paladin powers returned and get the impression that she was back in her deity's good graces.

Of course it really doesn't matter too much.

I'd let Elena remain a Paladin. The crazy she has become, she's still performing what she thinks is her god's will.

Yep, he can use the dance to cast any necromancy spell at CL 18. But the dance takes him one minute to perform.

I don't have access to any ravenloft products at the moment (local bookstore sold them) and I only started D&D in 3.5, so I had to do a lot of guessing.

According to the players handbook, ravenloft and normal, a paladin must be lawful good. No exceptions. Unless you want exceptions in your campaign, of course.

In the D&D rules, alignment is pretty much assumed to be objective, not subjective. In Ravenloft, especially so. Evil is a force, not a concept.

Greengiant posted some nice stats for Larissa Snowmane on the Wizards Ravenloft boards. ...including a druid substitution level which grants his version of the Dance of the Dead.

I might have somewhere, but I wasn't very ggod at remembering to keep a log, lol. The only one I kept a proper log on was for my Hunadora campaign and that got lost along with most of the notes for that campaign. Though I did post a short version of the log last year from some notes and portions of the log I had managed to drag up, and then lose again... typical of me really.

The Midway Haven site does have Crisis in Hunadora, which is adapted from my Hunadora campaign (or at least the latter half of it), told through the eyes of Megan Llewelyn from inside the Dukkar's camp. There was also a short(ish) log of the campaign in these forums early last year but these passed into the ether long ago. Try the Crisis in Hunadora file, it is poorly written (as it was for the news features on the MH site) but still available for donload (as a PDF file now I believe).

*Crisis in Hunadora* wass your baby? - That was the first RL netbook I ever downloaded! I know it already, and very well... The PDF had a certain lack of structure, but was nonetheless really interesting.
