I just wish Larry Elmore is somehow involved in this. Almost all my love for Dragonlance comes from his drawings, since I don't know much else.

IMO it is a good thing that the movie is animated as it captures the spirit of the fantasy novel better and it keeps the movie low-budget without it having laughable effects that would seem foolish.

I'm optimistic about this, since it is heavily based on a very successful book, it will be done comic-like and also the authors were involved in all the stages of the project, from explaining the characters to picking music themes for the movie.
I'm just pessimistic because I didn't like the ending to that trilogy. :P

What makes me more optimistic about the DL movie is the fact that it is animated. This allows the producers to make three movies, the entire trilogy, on the same budget (or less) than it would take to make a live-action movie that crams the entire trilogy into one film.

Here's hoping it gets a theatrical release rather than a direct-to-video one.
