Yeah, I'm more then a bit concerned that to much will be cut in order to make it a movie. I had a similar problem with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It was an alright movie, but nowhere near as good as the book, as it really suffered from having to fit within it's alloted time period.
Incidentally,
WATCHMEN TPB at Amazon.com for $10.99. For those who don't have it, get it.

I must say, as much as I enjoyed Watchmen I don't think it will ever get what is necessary, nor possible to achieve in a live action movie.
Trailers are deceiving, and can make anything look good.
Honestly the only good comic book adaption I have seen (other than recent developments on Batman) actually came from the animated version of Doctor Strange -- a little feature which was refreshingly good.

Glad to see that I'm not the only fan of the good Doctor and the surprisingly good animated movie.
On a Watchmen note...

I'm sure it's just coincidental, but does anyone else find it odd that this came out
after Dark Knight overtook Star Wars for the second spot in all-time domestic box office gross?

Bummer. Particularly given that the article states, outright, that the film is set in alternate-1985.

don't fear. seems like legal hocus-pocus that will result in a hefty settlement and the movie in theaters. On the bright side, if fox takes a nice chuck out of warner's profits from the film, they'll be less likely to attempt an ill-advised sequel if it does well.

Ugh. Fox should just do the world a favor and close down completely. Still though, I bet the movie will come out, even if it ends up being delayed a little bit. Even if somehow it didn't see a theatrical release, there'd end up being bootleg copies.

Like how Corman's Fantastic Four found itself distributed via semi-clandestine networks despite Marvel's best efforts to silence the existence of this movie.

Nowadays that's almost a guarantee. The more it looks like it'll be delayed the more people will try to sneak a copy.
Fox should do their best to settle small or everyone interested will just download and they'll end up with no money and large legal bills.

I certainly hope they'll have sense enough to settle. There are plenty of movies I'd just as soon pass on seeing in the theaters, but this isn't one of them.

Just thought folks who'd forgotten about this might like to know, there's a second trailer for the Watchmen movie out now:

Looks like the legal hassles were sorted out, paving the way for a March 6th release.
