We can find some good elves that will be glad to help us! It's Christmas in a couple of days! Ewan cannot be so mean so close to Christmas!

Ewan, Karim will have ready action to attack with the scimitars when the feral dogs (or what ever that barks coming from) come close to him.

Is he approaching the bend or just stopping and standing in the road, short of the bend?

He stops and waits with his scimitars out, when the dogs come in melee range he will attack. Just since is ready action will attack first regardless init. If you don't play ready actions it's ok, he will attack them when is his turn.

They aren't coming, looks like.
The noises are not getting closer if you stop walking. It sounds like the beasts are attacking something or someone just around the bend....

LOl Ewan! We have cleric and Archivist they will cast a couple of spells before the encounter I guess.
