Here's something not usually seen lately:White Wolf's Tarokka Deck, starting at $19.95, with 6 days to go.

I threw a bid on it, I expect it to be out-bid by midnight. Is this set very different from the Forbidden Lore set that we all have? I was away from gaming during the Sword & Sorcery days and know nothing about this product, only that it is rare and highly sought after.

From my point of view, it's a better product than the one included in Forbidden Lore or the 1994 campaign setting. The cards are bigger (Tarot-sized instead of playing card-sized), of heavier stock, with art by Talon Dunning which, imho, not only is better (nothing against Fabian's art, I just happen to like Talon's better) but it adds subtle details throughout the deck that gives it a sense of unity. Also, it doesn't have the Ravenloft logo on the back of each card, which I always thought was something against suspension of disbelief - kind of like a "souvenir" from Ravenloft.

So, all in all, I think it's worth having.

Absolutely, 100% better in every way, IMHO. A must have.

It seems the seller has lots of these , he already relisted several times. Also has Forgotten Realms and Birthright mouse pads.

Strahdsbuddy, here's a picture from the last Tarokka deck that I sold on ebay, with some details of the actual cards. Notice the bloodstains. Talon art is of course awesome..

Masteraj, while i don't have a spare Tarokka set anymore, I have some advice. Have you already saved a search on ebay so that you get automatically emailed anytime someone lists a tarokka deck ? Also check out www.nobleknight.com. You can let that shop notify you per email once a Tarokka deck is up for sale too. (Long time ago I grabbed up a Tarokka deck from Nobleknight for $40.)

The ebay prices are lower these days too: the last one went for $80, when not so long ago i sold one for $100.

3.5 lot: RLPHB, RLDMG, DoDread, VRA & SotDR, with a Buy It Now price of $50. A good opportunity, imho.
