Not that it changes anything significantly, but Malocchio's only 1/8 Vistani. His mother, Gabrielle, is 1/4 Vistani and 3/4 non-Vistani human, since she's the daughter of Isabella and (maybe) Vlad. Malocchio is 1/8 Vistani, 3/8 human, and 1/2 fiend (and this is getting complex). And I hadn't really thought about this before, but he'd make a decent replacement Darklord for Falkovnia if someone wanted to off Vlad (and found a way to move Malocchio from Invidia to Falkovnia).Teravala wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 9:11 pmThe Drakov child's mother is a giomorgo, so technically he is 1/4 vistani, just like Malocchio.alhoon wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 9:08 pm But GC has children with non-Vistani too. That Drakov child I think is not a vistani. And he has a daughter too, I think...
They are all half-fiends and they are all very interesting for Azalin's purposes, but I think the key is "GC-child" not "Dukkar"
edit: "Vigo was born in 705 BC to a giomorgo imprisoned as a concubine to Vlad Drakov This was likely Isabella Aderre when she was held captive. Although Vlad believes Vigo to be one of his progeny, Vigo's actual father is the Gentleman Caller.[1]" from the wiki.
so it stands to reason that he is, in actuallality, 1/4 vistani, 1/4 human, and 1/2 fiend.

IIRC, The Evil Eye is a bit vague on exactly how the binding works, just saying that it keeps Malocchio from leaving Invidia. A couple ways I can see to get around it:Drinnik Shoehorn wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 7:30 pm So here’s a question.
Azalin wants/wanted to gather the Gentleman Caller’s children.
The ending of The Evil Eye means Malocchio is bound to Invidia and can’t leave the domain. We know that due to his Vistani heritage and fiendish blood he could teleport out of the Demiplane, and take someone with him. Ideal for Azalin.
But how would Azalin get to him? How would he break the curse? Is this just another doomed part of Azalin’s plan?
1. It doesn't exactly work the way the Zarovan thought it worked, and instead it limits his teleportation abilities. As an adolescent, he can only teleport within Invidia and can't cross its borders. As an adult, he gets his adolescent power to teleport within Ravenloft but not to leave it. Azalin thinks he can break the limit and grant Malocchio the ability to leave the plane with a passenger. Azalin expect Malocchio to be grateful for this because even Azalin is more human than Malocchio.
2. Being in another fiend's reality wrinkle will reduce the power of the binding, but only by a little. It would take a whole lot of fiends nearby to suppress it enough for Malocchio's full power to be available. This is why Azalin is looking for all the GC's children. Getting a couple of them to be loyal to Azalin (either through persuasion or charm spells) will let him dispatch them to Malocchio to suppress the binding just enough for him to teleport to Darkon.
