One of these days, we all need to get together in person, and bring our Strahds. We could have a parade or something.

Got mine only today, there was a problem with the first shipping.

OK for the parade And I know what will be next to me next Halloween when I open the door.

I think she had more then 5, I don't know where she got these! They are brand new, i.e. still in shipping package.

But one thing that's incredibly rare is the remaining RPGA adventures that still eludes us...

RPGA? Is it as rare as the Tarokka? xD I'm begining to believe Tarokka deck is a myth! XD *goes back to keeping a watchful eye*

Nope the tarokka deck isn't that rare

Good luck in finding it. I think it wasn't made in large quantities, compared to a regular book.

I have a spare 1st edition set, I think.

^lol, yeah I think it's more about patience and time in the world when it comes to finding the Newer Tarroka from Talon. xD Been searching about a year i think now.

It would definately, be scary to see all those in one place at the same time....

Lol i think i'll pass. Someone at my DnD table would accidentally break it. Would be funny to put it in the bathroom for my girlfriend if she uses it at night. XD Everyone would wake up from the scream i'm sure. xD

So I was at a convention today, and only just today found out that there are figs for Strahd and Soth in the D&D Miniatures game. Unfortunately, even these prepainted plastic minis are going for fourteen to twenty bucks on the internet. (Not paying that much for a half hearted paint job on a poorly cast mini) Is there somewhere to get these cheaper that I am just not aware of? Or is there suitable alternatives to them that I just haven't found?

And while we are on that subject, is there a good place to find good Ravenloft minis in general?

Both are available as Ral Partha miniatures (25mm) Both are also in one of the Ravenloft miniatures boxed sets and Soth is also available as a Dragonlance mini. See also the assorted minis page

And I'm sure Reaper has some clones: a search for Vampires yields several candidates, a search for Death Knight or Blackguard or Antipaladin should do it for Soth. In general for Strahd there will probably be a lot of very fitting minis out there, as he is quite the iconic figure. Old Buckethead is a bit more specific.

I for plastic minis there was the stunning Reaper Bones Kickstarter... which will result in a lot more Reaper Bones minis becoming available.

The Unhallowed set for D&D Miniatures also had a Van Richten mini. But it didn't look anything like the Van Richten presented in the published material. It was based on WOTC's newer image of these characters. That's also why the Strahd mini is wearing the blue coat that he wears in Expedition to Castle Ravenloft. Over the years, Strahd decided to let his hair grow out and start wearing some color. And Van Richten picked up some levels of Paladin!

You can find good miniatures for Ravenloft from Reaper Miniatures. They do quality minis and have a few good vampires in their line up. They are also working with Pathfinder, I think.

There are also some great choices in the Warhammer line. Vampire Counts and Empire minis are particularly useful for Ravenloft.

But the true connoisseur should be looking to pick up the classic Ral Partha series of Ravenloft minis. They were really cool if a little blocky. They made three boxed sets and 26 blister packs for the series.

Or you could pick up a small horde of Ravenloft ready minis by buying the recent Castle Ravenloft boardgame. But if you play the game, get ready for a beating! Its made to be challenging. Our group felt like they were struggling for every victory with tooth and nail.

Yeah, Strahd was redesigned for 3rd Edition's "Return to Castle Ravenloft". While that adventure was actually not bad on its own, it pretty much ignored Ravenloft as an actual campaign setting, and it made Strahd more of an Anne Rice frillly-laced ballroom vampire fop. These boards had a nickname for him - something like Dread Elf Pirate Strahd or something.
