Drizzt novels?!
That's by the same guy who made Elminster hump that FR equivalent of the Smurf's Mother Nature, no?
No Ravenloft game holds as much horror to me as that scene.

No R.A. Salvatorie Is the author of the Drizzt novels actually . He does not write anything about Elminster. That is Ed Greenwood . He is also the author of the Original Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting(2nd Ed Ad&D) .

Thanks. That, I know of course. I even have some old 1e FR stuff at home, the ubernerd that I am.
So, Greenwood pornified Elminster himself?! - Okeeeeeeee.

I am tempted to get drunk as I read this.
By Hextor, I am happy that my personal 1e setting has always been Greyhawk.
Was going to try and roll knowledge dread realms to see if the slasher was infamous enough to have been heard of outside Karina, but apparently over the last month or so invisible castle's been going out of it's way to take the only thing Benn is actually good at away from me and make me look like a complete dunce.

Note to all players:
The in-game time is early afternoon. There are a few hours of daylight left. Nights get pretty long in the winter, and winter is coming soon.

Language note-
The Invidian tongue is related to both Balok and Mordentish. Many people in Karina may also speak proper Mordentish. That's true of merchants, educated folks, officials, etc.

"Sure sugar. Why don't you show me upstairs."
The man leads Sophie towards the stairs. As he passes the bar, he casually tosses a few coins on the counter and winks at the thin barman.
A little later, in an upstairs room- Sophie's POV
You can see the man's pearly grin in the semi-darkness of the shuttered room. He's kicking off his boots now.
''This room is the best in the house. The bed is soft, stuffed with goose feathers. Good, sturdy posts.''
Dude I hope that man has a few good ropes, for well,
