Well, I've taken Karim out of the action.

Van is on vacation.

If you want to involve your PC, just have him rejoin the party, like by going back to the Sancerre house.

If you wait too long to 'jump in' you'll miss the rest of the chapter.

Note for all players:

As soon as all current scenes are resolved, I plan on posting a gloss, skipping to the next morning at the party rendezvous.
If your PCs are going to do anything important other than eat supper and get a good night's sleep, let me know.
