Well, want to join the chorus in congratulating Ewan on a fine, fine game. The level of detail, the depth to the narrative, and the levels of the world were simply astounding. Here's hoping it moves forward very soon.

Anybody interested in running a one-off in the intervening time? .

I'd be interested in playing that.

And yes, congrats to ewan for a fantastic game.

I would probably do the group a disservice if I joined, given how busy I am right now.

I will, however, be glad to return for a sequel.

And as to Ewan's narrative skills, here's one vote for him to write a novel some day!

Yeah, definitely a great game. You know I've always been a big fan of Ravenloft, but this was my first Ravenloft campaign. I really dug it.

Yes, John was friends with some Falkovnians.

John's true name was William Locke. He was born and raised in Mordent. As the family name suggests, his father's people were locksmiths by trade. He followed the same profession, but had gotten greedy and was supplementing his honest earnings with a little larceny on the side. Locke was recruited as a spy by Falkovnian agents while dealing with merchants from that land. His knowledge of Falkovnian came from his dealings with Falkovnians in trade and espoinage, as well as personal contacts. His knowledge of Gnomish came from reading books and seeking out a tutor. He was always interested in mechanical arts, and Gnomish can be an important language for that sort of lore.

Locke's mission in Karina was to investigate rumors of certain corrupt soldiers selling secrets and working with smugglers.

The potion was given him by his Falkovnian handler, for use if he were caught and threatened with torture. He was caught by the corrupt guards, but escaped custody and drank the potion. The traitors, thinking John had died, decided to box him up and quickly bury him. Lucky for John they didn't decide to burn or chop up his 'corpse.'

The heavy rains that I mentioned in the river travel section washed John's box out of the riverbank and into the water.

John's amnesia was a result of the severe psychic trauma from waking up buried alive, plus the physical after-effects of both the beating and the potion.



BTW- As Tarlyn was able to discover in play, John Strange/William Locke was a rogue with a strong emphasis on mechanical stuff like trapfinding and lock-picking, and a healthy dose of stealthand observation skills.

Thanks , Adam- and thanks to all for your kind words. I did put a lot of work into this game, and I'm very glad you all enjoyed it. It would never have been so good without such good players. You guys really made it come alive for me.

I think it would make perfect sense for Dorgio to be the Godfather. They're great friends. This is assuming of course nothing shows up between now and then and eats you/me/the baby.

Hmm what about an intermission game with the same pc's while ewan is busy with school? That could work, in my book. Depends what he has to say about it, however. That is until he is ready for the sequel

Thanks for the great game Ewan! It was awesome. I had great time even if I joined late. I loved playing Karim and all of you guys are great players.

I'm looking forward to the sequel of course!!!

As about questions, what was the true story of the elf cleric Franz fell for? Was she the bad one or no?

And who was the one that attacked Karim? Jon?

As for the intermediate game count me in as well.

I'd be up for an intermission game. But fair warning, Dorgio will probably be absent from it, as you'll see in Ewan's epilogue. I'd be happy to play an NPC or something, though.
