Maybe it's a family name. Even if Draco didn't turn out to be a monster like Crabbe or his father did, he's probably still a traditionalist: he might have simply named Scorpius after his great-grandfather or whatever.

OTOH, he didn't name his kid after Lucius, or Voldemort for that matter. That, plus the simple fact that the look he gave Harry at the train station wasn't laced with intense hatred -- a description JKR certainly never hesitated to use for villains or for Snape -- has to count for something.

Draco's a whiney!

What I meant is that IMO Draco remains the irritating, spoiled bad boy as described in books 1-4. Not evil per se, but some you would love to punch and yes, you would be right to punch him because he's the one to put the finger on you, abuse whatever power he has, cheat at tests etc.

I'd be down with punching him in the face. Sure he doesn't fire a killing curse at Harry when he sees him at the train station, but I still think Draco's redemption would've been a better cliche to include in the book than the whole mother's love garbage with Mrs. Weasley defeating Bellatrix.

Rowling said that mrs Weasly was a very good and powerful witch, but didn't go around bossing people or getting in fights and so Rowling thought to give her a chance to prove her power.

All well and good, but why not against one of the other dark wizards, instead of the one built up to be The Badass?
