I guess this would be a good point to mention that, unlike Benn, I don't know all that much about Ezra.

I'm currently looking around for something of historical significance in the cathedral to use as a focus point for the next act of the play. Even better, looking for something that is not depicted correctly, IE a painting, tapestry, or stained glass window whose image doesn't agree with the generally accepted historical record.

Each of the four major sects has its own unique interpretation of ezra's works, doctrines, etc. The historical record is murky on the exact origins of the goddess, though most people believe she was once mortal, or else has taken on mortal form in the past.

Looking around, Benn doesn't notice anything obviously out of place...
except perhaps the repeating owl motif. Some of the carvings depict Ezra accompanied by what appears to be a large barn owl. That's odd, and Benn hasn't seen it before.

You make the spot/listen checks and Alain also subtly searchs nooks and crannys for any hidden doors/passages as he goes along .

Alain probably has a minute or two before whovere it is gets to the top of the stairs. Since Alain is at the bottom, entering the room and hiding is certainly possible. There are plenty of shadows in there, along with lts of stuff to hide behind. Rushing back up the stairs might be an opttion- if done quickly enough it could be possible to duck into a closet before being seen.

Of course, maybe you want to be seen?

If Tarlyn doesn't respond in time, I'll assume that Norzak moves into the cellar and hides behind something, as well.

Sorry about that. Have one nasty cold and sleep when it permits me. I'll do what Alain does but have a nice little listen. Lord Skybolt, the door held open by the barrel looks like a mighty fine place to explore once Friar Tuck leaves

Norzak and Alain are downstarirs poking about in the cellar, looking for the archives and the locked room.

Benn and Dorgio are upstairs in the main chamber, presumably interacting with the two NPCs mentioned [old man and the young female functionary].

I will allow time for Adam and Brock to post actions/replies bfeore advancing the upstairs scene, of course.

So what does Alain hear/not hear through the door with a 24 listen check?
