Ack! Grappling! Yeah, I figured it would come down to this. If Lucien is considered flat-footed, then a melee touch attack of 12 hits. If not, then that attack misses.

(Technically, Lucien would also get an AoO here, but I'm going to be fair and assume that he had absolutely no reason to believe that Zumba was about to attack him and was thus in no position to make an AoO.)

In any event, Lucien's Concentration check (30) is more than enough to beat the DC to cast while being grappled (20 + 3). It's more important to destroy the machine, so Lucien will follow through with the attack as stated and hope that saving the machine forces the baddies into making desperate, dumb moves. Fingers crossed.

Technically, Zumba is a monk so I don't think Lucien would get the AoO anyway
But 12 is rather low for what it could be anyway.

We're kind of waiting on Guzrath. He pm'ed me a while back that he needed to think on what he would do, based on what I pm'ed him... I hope he's alright.

Ah, but is Zumba attacking AS a monk or as the Big Bad's meat puppet? Guess we'll find out shortly.

Euh.... I'd say even a dominated character uses his own abilities, so that would make him attack as a monk But let's wait for Rock.

The conditions of Ail's loss of control still allow him to function as a Monk, so... go for it.

I will be in Las Vegas until next saturday, although my net access will probably finish on friday.
